I couldn't find my answer via google or the FAQ thread. If I wanted to adopt a villager at some point from someone on here, would I get to choose who the new villager kicks out of my town or is it random? I also keep seeing posts about a glitch with adoptions? Does the glitch only apply if Amiibo are used to move someone out? I'm afraid to break my game if I adopt a villager. Thank you!

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that you can't adopt a villager from another player at all if you don't have a plot open and available for them to move into.

To be honest, I heard contradictory info regarding the glitch.
Some people said it's only through forced amiibo while others have sworn to get it the natural way.
Which is why, if I were you, I'd hold on a bit until the next patch.

Also, I wasn't aware that there was an option to invite a villager from another player when your town is full. Can someone confirm this?

That was my understanding too but since I haven't gotten to that point in the game, I wouldn't want to say something that might be wrong.

As far as I know, the only way to adopt a villager is when they are in boxes.
That is true... however; there has been a known glitch when the adopted villager was forced out by an amiibo and caused problems for the players.
I heard that it was patched but other villager move-in/move-out glitches came along so I'd be wary.

Thanks for the replies, guys! I might just wait it out then, to be safe!
