I have noticed Redd has changed.

The first time I had Redd was between 29th of November and 29th of December.
He allowed me to pick art for myself as well as let my friend pick another piece since I did have two genuine art pieces basically it was similar to New leaf.
Another time, same friend (we help each other), let me come pick art up and it was still fine to do so.
However, on the 29th of December I realised he was changed in possibly the last update where he told me he would only let me pick on piece per Island meaning I couldn't buy from my friend's Island.

Has anyone else noticed this? Or was it just temporary on that day?

pretty sure this has always been the case. i once bought a painting from redd, and then went to someone else's island on the same day to buy a different one, not realizing that i could only buy one piece of artwork per day period, regardless if it was on my island or a different one. so you can buy one piece of artwork on a different island, but you can't buy multiples by going to a different island each time if that makes sense? the game seems to treat it as if the redd on your island and the redd on someone else's island is the same redd, so if you saw him on your island on the same day, he'll recognize you and refuse to sell you what he considers another piece. i'm dumb so i'm probably explaining it terribly lmao.

Did you know you can buy all of Redd's Paintings and statues when you have 4 Residents on your island? Yeah it actually works. On topic I think thats always been the case. I haven't been to Redd since I completed my art museum but I do know that if you already buy from Redd on your island he doesn't let you buy from him again if you go to someone else's island.

It’s always been that way. You can only buy one piece of art per day even if you go to another island. You have to make a second character on your island if you want to buy more than one piece of art.

I’m pretty sure he tells you that you can only buy one piece of art when you enter his ship, and he says “choose wisely”

This is very strange! I know that I am a new player but I could of swore he let me not only visit a friend for their bonus legit art but also allowed my friend to as well visit me for the same reason and it worked up until recently.

Wait... Maybe it's because on the days we bought the art, whoever it was didn't have them on their island i.e I didn't have him on myisland so I was able to buy the art on my friend's island. I feel stupid now. Thank you guys!
