I just made an account when googling about the new update and found this place. I'm trying to trade/sell/buy some of my villagers. I've yet to figure out what "TBT" is though. I look at the begginers guides.. Is there anywhere that explains the accromyns used here & basic of how tickets & bells work?

hello! welcome to the forums, i hope you enjoy your stay. im not really an expert, but i will try my best to help you even slightly.

do you see those "bells" under your username, to the left of the screen there? it should be under "posts"
TBT stands for- The Bell Tree, and those bells are used as a form of currency on some parts of the forums. when someone talks about TBT, (or BTB, Bell Tree Bells, as some people call it) then theyre talking about those bells underneath your post count.
Everytime you post, except on some forums like The Basement, you earn bells and they add up with how many posts you have. You can also earn bells getting them from people, as if theyre buying an item from you or you won a giveaway.

So, essentially you have to post a ton to earn TBT? And people on the forums use it as a currency. Are the bells in game useful still?

Hi there, welcome to the forums! Hope you settle in here c:
Currently, 1 TBT can be exchanged for a current rate of 200,000 bells in ACNL.
Depending on word and character count, you can rack up forum bells from each of your posts.

There are certain other forum currencies exclusive to events throughout the year. For example, "tickets" can be earned during the Bell Tree Fair, and "eggs" can be earned from the Easter events. We just finished the Halloween event on the forum which was super fun and spooky ヽ(*・ω・)ﾉ Any announcements for events and so forth are posted in the Bulletin Board section.

The FAQ is here and also listed at the top of the forum. I'm not sure if you like reading though You can learn a lot through general forum experience. Each forum has a section usually exclusive for one thing, so look out for the right forum if you plan on making your own thread!

TBT can be used to purchase in game bells, in game items, items from other games (e.g. pokemon), collectibles (cute little icons shown on the left under your avatar, which you can, well, collect) and more in the TBT Marketplace. (Although this section will be moved soon I think..)

You can make posts or you can also sell in game items on the Retail board in order to make TBT! Some people still use in game bells for buying items!
