I need help. Cant download the update.

I tried updating, but after about 15 minutes, it stops and said there is coruption. This happened to me a while back, and someone on here told me to download it from the eshop. It worked. However, I can't figure out how to do it. I need step by step instruction.

So I tried redownloading. It wouldn't finish. Said the data was corupt. I checked for coruption. It said there wasn't any. I'm just sad and not understanding what is wrong. I can't even play my game. It just wants me to re download, and it won't even finish the 3 and a half hour download. I've been googling for the last two hours for help. Nothing is working. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

Do you have enough storage? Have you tried reinstalling the entire software?

I have enough storage. How do you reinstall the entire software? Does that delete my progress on the game?

Save files are stored separately on the switch's storage. If you have digital, you can delete the software and redownload it from the eShop.

I'm having the same issue as well, but I have a physical copy.

Edit: I already got the update and my island is alright! Thank goodness! You can ignore this.
