I need help choosing between two favorites! (Cyd or Reneigh)

This may be my most difficult decision yet! Once I choose, there's no going back. This is because I'm thinking of replacing a non-amiibo villager (on my primary island) with another non-amiibo villager (from my secondary island)! I have to choose someone, otherwise both Reneigh and Cyd will perish! They're on the island I'm set on demolishing in the near future! I'm going to lose two out of three of these pre-existing villagers in the end. Therefore, I'm going to get extra on this thread (with a literal powerpoint-esque presentation format) to ensure I make the right decision!

Audie has an immaculate design! Gorgeous, striking, and fitting for my island. All of it! But... I do not have the profound emotional connection that I share with the rest of my villagers. I have thought on more than one occasion that I have to yeet her...	I've already been emotionally preparing to let go of these villagers. I can't. I wish I had room for BOTH, but I must choose between one of them in the end. Reneigh is like my girlfriend, and Cyd is like my dad. I essentially need the forum's help in choosing between my girlfriend or my dad.

The best (but most unrealistic) outcome would be if I were to magically get attached to Audie and detached from Reneigh/Cyd. Audie fits my island's theme well, but it bothers me that she's no more than a pretty doll on display on my island. I need a villager I've formed a relationship with and has more than "theme" value to me. Because right now, that's all Audie is: "on theme."

What does it mean for a villager on Kame to be "on theme?" And how can I make sure my final villager choice is "on theme," fits in with the rest of my villagers, and shares an emotional connection with me?

"Kame" is inspired by my weeb love for Dragon Ball Z. In keeping with this theme, I have my training/tournament grounds in the mountains and many of my villagers keep to this theme. (Ex. Graham is the weaboo who makes karate movies in his basement while Drago is literally Shenron) In the lineup to the left, I make sure that each of my villagers stand out. Audie already does a nice job being bright orange, which is a shame I don't love her. I've tried to keep a mix of personalities, but I've given up on compromising the villagers I love for villagers I think I need. If I were to get Reneigh, she'd be the second uchi. If I were to get Cyd, he'd be my third cranky. When I lose Audie, I lose my peppy. That's something I've lost ever since I said goodbye my starter peppy, Maddie.

This begs the question: do I take in my third cranky? Or should it be my second uchi? Both personalities are among my favorites, so I don't mind having "too much" of either villager type. Because of this, I think it's best to consider the living arrangments of the villager who will inevitably replace Audie. Depending on what I choose, it'll be to my beach resort's benefit that I either have another retired old man in Cyd or a new beach resort queen in Reneigh.

The villager gimmick in this section of my island is that the crankies live here! Just like in real life, old men have come to retire on an island getaway. These are the "bungalows" patrons at the beach resort check into. At the top is Audie, who functioned as the "queen" or manager of the resort with her beach bistro-themed house. Again, she fits the role well, but if that's all she does for me emotionally, then it'd be best if she went to someone who is emotionally attached. What would it look like if Cyd or Reneigh moved in? If Cyd had a place in the beach resort, he'd be the third official resident among his fellow retirees! All three of these dads and grandpas could commiserate together over the insane youthful energy coming from the rest of the villagers, who are clearly insufferable weebs. Reneigh's house is vaguely beach-themed. She'd be able to usurp Audie's title as "queen" and "manager," especially with that haircut. In addition, she and Shari would get along with their insane lesbian energies. Shari's gonna have to fight me if she wants my girlfriend.

In the end, I will choose Reneigh or Cyd over Audie since I've gotten too emotionally invested on my secondary island—even as it's destined to be wiped from the system upon selling it. This wouldn't be a problem if any of these villagers had amiibos, so here we are!

What do you guys think? I want to judge Reneigh and Cyd over:

• Compatibility with my other villagers (appearance and personality)
• Whether or not they also fit Kame's theme:
  • Bright, anime, Japanese, island-esque (appearance)
  • Weeb vibes (personality)
    • Note: Three crankies/two uchis don't bother me in the grand scheme of things.
  • Their place in the beach resort
• Attachment levels
  • Only I can determine this one...
  • Ultimate determining factor, but outside opinions can guide me to this conclusion!

I personally prefer Reneigh, but I think Cyd is more unique and I hardly see him on people's islands, so I'd say go with Cyd!

biased opinion. I luv reneigh, actively tried to get her on my island. Got cyd on my island randomly, took months for me to finally get rid of him

I agree - on a personal level I'd go for Reneigh by miles, but putting that aside I think Cyd would fit in better on your island! it'd complete the old man retirement vibes of the beach, he's brightly coloured, and I don't see him all that often on islands!

Personally I love Reneigh and the sisterly personality type, and I don’t like the cranky personality, so I would choose her (three crankies would be way too much for me, even though I understand it is not for you). But Cyd does have a very cute and cool design (at the same time even!)

incidentally, I like both of them better than Audie (other than not liking the wolves much, I don’t know why. I considered her a couple times, only because I love love love her house). I think you are making the right choice in letting her go, sometimes a villager just doesn’t click for you and I think that should supersede the theme match, imo at least.
