I "painted" a cherry!!

So, earlier today I spent about $30 on a game called Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone!, and I finally finished the first lesson!

Spoiler: This is the result

It's far from perfect, so being the perfectionist that I am, I can't look at it without seeing every single on of it's flaws.. HOWEVER, it's still by far the nicest looking "art" I've ever made!

I'm really glad that (at least in this lesson), they take you step-by-step, instead of showing you the reference and telling you to figure out how to paint it on your own - I'm someone who has to take baby steps for everything.

Unfortunately, I'm really impatient, too.. so I find it really difficult to take things slow - I usually end up ruining any attempt I make at drawing something because I try and rush things, and then I get mad at how ugly it is and quit before I'm anywhere near finished.

This time, though, I forced myself to go slow, and I'm glad that I did - it made a huge difference!

Since I've only done the first lesson, I can't really say whether or not you should spend the $30 to get it.. But if the rest of the lessons are as good as the first, I'd say you should definitely buy it! (especially since I'm sure you're more talented than I am, and could create much better looking paintings )

Absolutely, I shall see what else you may draw that looks just as stunning <3 I absolutely want to improve my artistic abilities if even possible haha; I will certainly consider this game that's for sure and ugh nonono I am not as good as this haha, I can only do disproportional anime girls lol

Haha, the only reason I was able to do that well on the cherry was because the game has a ref pic on the upper screen, and lets you use a grid to help you figure out where everything fits in. They show a short example of of "Vince" drawing what you need to draw, too, so that also helps.

I think the next lesson will have me draw a single tulip, or something.. But I think I'll save that for tomorrow. I'm content with the cherry painting for today haha.

Hehe, sorry - I've never been very good at taking compliments. That's something else I need to work on, haha.

What's frustrating me right now, though, is if I eventually improve to the point where I feel comfortable enough to draw without references.. I want to have a single name to go by - something that I like but is original enough that I can use the name on multiple sites.
But everything I come up with is either really lame, or taken. D: I would need to come up with my own signature, too.. (I wish I liked my given name so I could just skip all the stress and use that, instead.. lol)
