I want to do a giveaway but I need some help

I've been seeing some people interested in the seasonal item Mush Lamp, and as mushrooms are on season for me, I can craft some to give them to other players, especially now that I ready have some and won't need more of them.

However, as I imagine the demand for this item can be quite high, I wanted to pick the recipients randomly. I won't be able to provide one mush lamp for everyone, so at least It's more fair if luck decided who would get them.

Problem is, I never did something like that before. I've see some people using RNGs to do giveaways but I don't know how this works.

If anyone could help me with this, I would be very grateful.

You can use Google or something like random.org - basically, you assign a number to everyone who’s interested, then specify the number range on the website to generate the winning numbers at random

When I did a villager giveaway, I had a bunch of people comment to enter and then used the number generator to pick the winner!

That can work! Some people also get people to pick a number between (say, 1-50 as an example) and they keep track on the OP so there's no duplicate numbers and then use those numbers.

I'll prepare everything tomorrow (gotta craft those lamps) and I'll organize everything in order to make this happen.

Also, where exactly should I post the giveaway thread? Airport? Nook's Cranny? The main NH forum?

hi! I had a luxury grab bag event at my town! People had to pay but I made sure everyone got their worth of nook miles tickets. You dont have to charge but what I did, and like a lot of other grab bag eventers... you just wrap everything . Just wrap a few mushrooms, mush items, bells, nmt, wood, other cute items and let people come pick like 3 random items (or 1, obviously up to you <3) having an event at your town is a lot more immersive too ^.^
