People get injured because of Pokemon Go, and its only because they are idiots... My family is thinking of making me uninstall the game because of these idiots... they should understand i am smarter than the average *******... I would know not to cross a busy street just to catch a evee... sure i love evees as much as the next pokemon fan, but i would probably die on the road... this isnt TERA online people, we cant be ressurected because of magical scrolls or Mystics/Priests...what do you guys think about these guys? are with with my family or with me?

tbh its best u uninstall the game, there are better pokemon games out there, its best you just play those

it's not anymore dangerous than any other app or anything, it's just that some people seem to think common sense doesn't apply when you're out hunting for pokemon

shhh let the natural selection do its job

This is the best comment I've seen here in a long time.

Unfortunately, Pokemon Go seems like a pedophile magnet and it's only a matter of time before something really bad happens.

Have you heard? There's hacking in the game making fake pokemon locations to where you think there's a pokemon there, but its actually a hacker trying to steal your phone for profit.

While I agree its dumb for people not paying any attention to the outside world on just an entertaining app, they gotta do it for their safety.

I agree you should uninstall the app immediately. It is from the devil and must be stopped.

People getting injured, people thinking it's socially acceptable to catch Pokemon at places like Auschwitz... what a mess. In a way, I'm glad it's not in my country yet. Hopefully the hype will have died down by the time it gets here.

(By the way, OP, I agree with you. Just because other people act foolish doesn't mean you will!)

I don't see a problem with playing the game as long as you're smart and safe. Don't go into an alley for a Pok?mon. If there's one at the end of your driveway, have at it. I don't see why some people take the game so seriously, or any game for that matter. Don't push your limits for a video game. Don't go places you're uncomfortable with, etc. It's common sense :/

I haven't heard about the hacking in the game, but rather people set up "lures" to attract other players to the location and rob them.
No matter what kind of app it is there's always going to be idiots who don't use enough common sense to ensure their own personal safety, but simply because such people exist doesn't reserve your family the right to make you delete the app when you play more safely. There'll also be horrible people who take advantage in order to harm others, but that's why you take logical steps such as only approaching very public areas, walking with a group of friends, don't go out in the middle of the night, etc.

Personally I utilize the "battery saver" function where you hold the phone upside down for the screen to go dark and a vibration will tell you when a pokemon is nearby. That way you can focus more on your surroundings and not on your screen constantly checking to see if a pokemon pops up.

My parents are just like yours but I don't see the problem with it as long as you stay sensible and don't go anywhere that will put you into obvious harm. Practice regular, common sense, safety precautions and you'll be just fine.

But alas, there will always be someone who walks straight into traffic.

Something happened close from where I live... Two guys were playing the game in a car... They crashed into a police car. xD

I tried showing my dad the app because it raised Nintendo's stock by A LOT in just a few days and he went on this huuuuge rant about how now kids are going to be sneaking out at night to go catch Pokemon and what not. I mean, he's not wrong, but kids have been sneaking out of their houses forever to do worse things than catch Pokemon. And I've seen plenty of people walk into traffic because they were staring at their phones just texting.

Honestly, the app is fine. There are people that abuse every little thing in this world, but if you don't have the common sense to be smart about walking into streets or going off into secluded areas alone, that's your deal and natural selection will just work its magic lmao

Pokemon Go has made a huge HUGE improvement in a lot of people's lives. I've read about a guy who has suffered from anxiety, depression and all that fun stuff, finally coming out of his house just to catch Pokemon and making friends. A severely Autistic child, actually making eye contact with people and interacting with them. A lot of Animal Shelters are making use of it and allowing people that play Pokemon Go take their dogs on walks.

And you know what? People spent 5 years crushing candy while sitting on their asses and no one cared. Jesus Christ all those candy crush invites where annoying as fudge! And now, a game comes out that encourages people to go out and omg GASP interact with people?! And people lose their minds. Like "Oh my god how DARE you wander around outside! /s" Yes there are some bad people out there that will take advantage of the game. But you know what? If you're smart enough to string together a coherent sentence, you should be capable of being aware of your surroundings and knowing when something looks fishy. Like a Lure in the middle of a night at a some remote location.

Another thing? The game vibrates when there is a Pokemon near you. Make use of that. If it vibrates in your hand, sure look down. You don't need to continue looking down at your phone to catch a Pokemon. And also if you turn off the AR option, *gasp* you can still keep moving a few feet away from where the Pokemon spawned to catch it. Sure it takes a little away from the game but at least you're not standing at a middle of a busy intersection trying to catch god knows what.

Sorry for the rant, I've had people make judgemental comments about my kid and I playing this game.

People are playing while they are driving and they get into crashes which is stupid. The app is great (a good way to get out of the house), but some people are just idiots.
