I just had a random thought and I wonder how it would look like if they decided to make a live action animal crossing tv series that could air in both japanese and english .

How would it look like and how would it even work if they even managed to pull it off correctly?

What would you think about it if they decided to do it and what would you hate/love about?

Something tells me it would probably not work out too well and people would hate it.

I don't know. If it looked anything like the live-action Animal Crossing commercials that were recently posted, I'd probably give it a try. But more than likely, it wouldn't turn out very good.

I wouldn't say a live-action series, but more of a cartoon series that has a story, and only airs on Netflix.

That's how I see any Nintendo cartoons this generation could go if Nintendo ever chose to do this.

I think in Animal Crossing's case, a anime series would work much better than a live action one. When it comes to a live action adaptation, you probably would have to deal with cheesy teenagers playing the human characters while the villagers/NPCs are portrayed as either really weird looking CGI creatures (see also the live-action adaptation of the musical "Cats" for a inspiration) or a bunch of people dressed up in cartoon-ish/realistic looking fursuits that have a creepy vibe and pure nightmare potential. Overall, if they ever want to make a TV Show, they should go for an animated one, preferred with the same funny plot that the Animal Crossing CoroCoro manga series have.

I would probably watch it out of curiosity, but I would really prefer if it was animated.
I could see me loving it if it contained Ghibli-like ideals with being live action?
Not sure how that would work though.

Realistically, you could only do so much with it. The best way to do a series, anime/cartoon or live-action, would be to do one episode focusing on each month to cover a full year (whether it be 30 or 60 minutes). In the end you'd get 12 episodes out of it and you could cover everything that you'd need to without dragging it out or rushing it. If it does well, you could do a second season or a new season focusing on different characters, but I think that would be the ideal amount. More than that and you risk things becomes stale for an audience, especially when with shows you have to appeal to non-fans and fans alike. You can't rely solely on the AC fanbase.

This reminds me of the live action GameCube adverts, and I could happily live the rest of my days not seeing something of that likeness again.

Don’t know about live action but... stop motion like the rilakkuma show! I’d love that so much.

The first thing I thought of was Pete's Dragon. Which btw, I wouldn't recommend. It is terrible lol. I loved it when I was 3/4 though. But yeah I imagine the animals being animated in a live action setting like this. I just don't think it would work. But idk

I mean there was an Animal Crossing movie made. I'll probably see it eventually.

I guess it wasn't live action but it's probably the closest thing we got to an AC series right now

I wouldn?t want live action but I agree with the previous user who said stop motion would be cool!

As others have mentioned, stop motion or anime would probably make more sense and work a bit better with the material. That said, whatever medium the people behind this hypothetical show would choose, I probably wouldn't partake, so it wouldn't really matter to me all that much. It would be like Pok?mon for me, where I only care about the mainline series of video games and ignore basically everything else related to the brand that they put out.

Nah I don't think that would be that great. If they decide to make a serie I would prefer a cartoonish look or an anime! Like Aggretsuko! I think this coule work out really well. The only concern is the story. I think it would be to childish for me :)

IT WOULD BE HILARIOUS!! To an extent. It depends on if the villagers would be hyper-realistic, CGI or played by actors.
