My Tutu card never arrived. The seller used USPS and it either got lost in the mail or stolen or whatever and there was no tracking number so I don't know where the heck it ended up. I requested a refund and luckily the seller was very nice and if the card does magically arrive, I will have to send it back to them, which will be upsetting because I would rather have the card than the refund but it wouldn't be my card anymore if they refunded my money.

Lesson learned. Sure buying the packs will be more expensive and the chance of getting Tutu is very low but at least I know those will come with a tracking number. I'm probably going to look into trading but the only Amiibo card I have that I know is worth something is Stitches and I'm not willing to trade it away. It's a bit disappointing but nothing can be done about it. *shrugs*

Luckily we have an awesome update coming so I won't be all upset about this for long I'm sure. XD

Postal services are just bad in general. Canada Post (Canada's mail service) is notoriously slow, even with expedited services. And guess who's delivering my pre-order for my Series 5 pack?

Yuppp.. chances are it'll be late, and I paid 5.99 for it to, supposedly, arrive on the same day as it releases. Here's hoping whoever picks up my pack has decided to be on time.

So, I feel you.

Aww sorry to hear. I wonder if there are sellers out there who would do tracking numbers for amiibos. Mail service tends to be more ify this time of year because of the holidays creeping up.

The problem with it is it costs money. Not a lot of people are willing to spend extra money, especially if it cuts into profits. That is why a lot of stores force buyers to pay shipping fees below a certain amount. It would cut into their profits below a certain margin. :/

I’ve been lucky and have done at least 4 or 5 orders and got them all. I’m sorry you had this horrible luck.

But if the buyer is willing to pay esp if they order multiple singles, it may be worth it.
I'm just suggesting there may be sellers out there who have tracking numbers as an option for single amiibos they are selling if that is something someone is interested in when ordering.

Yeah the postal service is very slow and even slower the closer we get to the holidays. I might try to buy it again, maybe on Amazon this time but right now, I'm feeling a bit jaded.

I'm also going to wait until after the holidays, maybe the postal service will be faster. I also wonder if the card does get here, will the seller be willing to recharge my card so I can keep the Amiibo card. Too many questions that I sure you guys probably can't answer.

I'm sorry your card hasn't shown up. I bought fan made ones and the seller put tracking on it. I am a mail carrier and I can tell you we are severely overwhelmed, both carriers and those in the plants. In the past the months leading to christmas were our busy time but the pandemic changed that drastically. Ever since covid started and people went into lock down everyone is ordering everything. It's like year round christmas for us. Add that to the workers that were out sick or simply refusing to work. And now people don't want to come back to work. Especially for us. non full time carriers are expected to work every sunday and all but a few holidays(many work 7 days a week for months at a time due to staffing shortages). And if you are a rural carrier you are required to have your own vehicle to deliver out of. We do our best but we simply don't have enough people to handle the volume. In future ask the seller to add a tracking number, even if it costs you a little more it's worth it.

Can't hurt to ask if it does show up 🙂
Plus it reduces risk of it getting lost on its way back for the seller so I would imagine they'd be ok with it.

eBay has a service now for the sellers where you can send trading cards (doesn't matter if it's amiibo, Pokemon cards, baseball cards, etc) cheaply and still actually have tracking on it. That eBay seller really needs to look into that, to both protect themselves and buyers with the tracking. I forget what it's called since I'm not the one with the eBay seller account, my husband is (we just use eBay to sell like a yard sale for stuff we don't want anymore, so we don't sell amiibo). It's specifically through eBay itself, not a USPS thing.

I'm sorry to hear you had that happen. I will say that you actually do still have the chance where that card might show up. Once in a while I've noticed small mail in envelopes temporarily gets lost or delayed, but then might show up in your box days or weeks later.

Will they not let you just re-send the money if it shows up? O:

I had to cancel my amiibo card purchase on amazon because the delivery date was all the way in December 2021, I think I would just wait until they are released and they are come at a recent time. I don't want to buy them separate I want the whole series 5 pack for a reasonable price.

I don't know, I haven't asked them. I will ask if they are okay recharging me if the card shows up. As it stands right now, I haven't gotten my refund back but I did just request the refund yesterday. I checked and the Amiibo card didn't show up today either. The delivery date was the 27th and it's the 30th and still nothing.

Yeah, that's a bit far from now. XD I'd cancel too. My patience level would not allow me to wait that long

Luckily the Tutu card was only like 5 dollars so I'm not losing out on a whole lot of money but it's just a shame they chose to use such a slow service to deliver. My other Amiibo cards I bought were bought on Amazon and delivered by Amazon with a tracking number.

This is actually the first time I bought something on eBay, and this experience isn't making me thrilled to use it again, but then again, it's USPS not eBay or the seller for that matter. And thank you. I'm sure the card will show up, it's just showing up way way way way way way later than it was supposed to.

aaaa, I hope it shows up for you and they're okay with that! Idk, lately my stuff's been late or lost in the mail as well. I ordered 2 ice makers bc the first one seemed like it got lost and then the SECOND one got lost too. We got the first one 3 weeks later but the second one hasn't showed up at all. 😭

Sorry this happened. You should only do what you are comfortable with, but I wouldn't necessarily let this one experience deter you from ever buying individual cards again. This is something that happens with the USPS and it can happen with anything.

Buying packs from Amazon can get lost in the mail the same way single card purchases can, even if they have a tracking number. I ordered something from Amazon a few weeks ago and it got lost in the mail despite having a tracking number. The important thing is knowing you can get a refund if the product doesn't arrive. If you buy on eBay, it's helpful to check seller ratings to see what their customer service is like.

Oh no, I'm sorry. That's a bummer. Messing with a gamer's Amiibo cards is one thing, but when you start messing with their ice cream, that's when they will bring the hurt. I hope it arrives soon.

That's true. Things get lost all the time in the mail, things a lot more expensive than an Amiibo card so yeah, saying I will never by them individually anymore is definitely jumping the gun. And that's true that the Amiibo cards I did get could have gotten lost just as easily so yeah, it definitely shouldn't deter me from buying them individually anymore. It's just frustrating because the Tutu card is the one card I wanted the most and it's the one card that never showed up. It's like what the heck, what gives?

Damn, as someone who buys trading cards regularly (and they're often not exactly cheap), I can't even imagine how upset I would be if that happened to me. In my case, I only buy singles from stores I know, but amiibo cards aren't as common as Magic cards, so it's pretty hard to find stores that sells them as singles, I believe.

Thankfully, I never had a problem like this in all these years buying cards, even with the postal service sometimes giving headaches to some people, I very fortunately haven't gone through anything like this. The closer I got to a situation like this was when the store sent me a different card (it had the same character on the art, same color, same rarity, same set, but not the same card I bought), and they were nice enough to mail me the card I bought and letting keep the card they sent as a mistake.

I definitely understand the frustration. I've been on both sides of it as a buyer and seller plenty of times and it's never fun. The best thing you can hope for is that the person you are dealing with is friendly and the situation is easy to resolve.

As a seller, I've had people write me angry emails because the USPS damaged or lost their packages even though it wasn't something I could control. I always refund the person and/or send a replacement. There are a few bad eggs out there, but I've found most sellers want to do the right thing. And if it is a bad seller, sites like eBay have polices that can help you get your money back.

In my experience, USPS is good about 95% of the time, but 5% of the time they mess things up. They are much more affordable than competing services though, so most people have no choice but to use them.

Sorry they misplaced your card.
I know it's not the same, but I have Tutu's amiibo card. I can upload her onto my second island if you want her. Just let me know!

My family owns a private mail store. Customers adding a tracking number usually doesn't add that much more. This is kind of on the seller not being that great of a seller... You should give your clients the option to have tracking, especially if its a very specific/small/large/fragile item etc. I could definitely understand your frustrations =( I bet you would've been more satisfied if they just charged you a couple more dollars to ensure it comes to you safely. Good luck~
