I'm not accusing my islanders of thievery, but...

Same thing happened to me T_T I left 30 soft wood stack outside since I had no space and I literally saw my villagers carrying a stack of wood 5 min later. He doesn't even have a house yet, what is Antonio gonna do with it lol T_T
 
omg is this for reaal? xD I leave all the crafting stuff in front of nook. gee gonna hide them away now. haha
 
Omg really? I didn’t know animals could take things... are you sure it didn’t get put in the recycle box in Tom Nook’s tent?

I'm sorry this happened to you too! I'm glad to hear it's not just me though... Guess I have to clean up because I've been leaving stuff outside.

Yes! I checked- same stuff as yesterday. I need these islanders to let me in their tents so I can find the culprit. Agnes, I'm looking at you.
 
glad i saw this thread lol, I leave crafting materials near my bench outside that way it doesn't take up pocket space
 
Oh no! But wouldn't that make decorating your island a pain if the islanders will take the furniture and stuff away? Maybe it was a bug?
 
Erm, I checked around my town, and all of my items that I placed in town are still here. I might be wrong, but i'm pretty sure you did something with it and can't remember.
 
I've seen others post elsewhere on the net about items disappearing. I wonder if it's a glitch.
 
There's no way villagers could do this. If they did, they'd tell you about it.

Seems like something Ninty needs to fix.
 
That's why I refused to put anything outside. It's just asking for stuff to get stolen. I saw Plucky lurking around my tent last night, so I took my camping cot and radio I had outside and put it right back into my tent.

Haha!! But in all seriousness, I thought decorating outside your campsite was supposed to be a feature. What good is it if the stuff goes missing? Unless there's going to be a "whodunnit" type search where you gather clues and interrogate islanders, I want my stuff safe!
 
IMO I think its a horrible glitch. so far to me nothing dissapeared. but I understand your sadness! Better put everything in for now until further news from devs!
 
this is very strange! i had my items littered around the plaza for a day and a half including stone and wood and some furniture, and nothing was taken as far as i'm aware, nor did i see the villagers walking around with wood they could have taken

how far have you progressed in your game? i started yesterday, maybe my villagers aren't ready to start stealing yet haha :p
