this is very strange! i had my items littered around the plaza for a day and a half including stone and wood and some furniture, and nothing was taken as far as i'm aware, nor did i see the villagers walking around with wood they could have taken

how far have you progressed in your game? i started yesterday, maybe my villagers aren't ready to start stealing yet haha

I started yesterday too. I have tons of other stuff still laying out and that's all I've noticed missing- the mirror and the fire I put in front of Agnes' tent.

How odd. I was messy on day one and left everything outside and didn't notice anything missing. Ah well, I'll just put my gold nuggets safely in storage, I don't mind too much about the rest.

I think I just had the opposite happen to me? I was running around my island gathering things and there was some softwood that I forgot to pick up earlier on the ground so I picked it up. A little while after that I saved and quit the game and when I went to play again later the softwood was back in that same exact spot as if I never picked it up to begin with.

I haven't had anything disappear yet.

I really doubt it's a feature since decorating your island is such a big deal this time around. It would be a woefully bad design decision.

Must be a bug, no way would the villagers just remove furniture outside. I can understand leaving "items" out there, but we're literally meant to decorate the outside now. I have like 3 furniture pieces outside and nothing happened to it.

Yeah, it does sound like a glitch. I mean, they talked a lot about and put a lot of focus on being able to decorate outside for this to not merely be a glitch. The game just came out so I'm sure there are still some bugs and glitches that still need to be worked out but it is disheartening since this is a cool feature.

It's so weird! I hope it is just a glitch because the whole concept was "design your outdoor space!"

Just to clarify the villagers only take items that were dropped not placed. Which is explains why my stack of wood was literally picked up Infront of my eyes lol I should have screen recorded it. XD

I don't think Nintendo would make a feature to decorate outside just for villagers to steal your stuff. Not when they've put so much work into fixing villagers ruining your paths and such like they would in new leaf. Has to be a really cruddy glitch lol. I mean the game is only a couple days old.

Have you reported this on the nintendo support forums or looked if anyone else has? If enough people report it it'll get nintendo's attention. Luigi's Mansion 3 had a game ruining bug (wouldn't let you get one of the achievements) and it got fixed through this I think.

Its not that game breaking, but I see what you mean about reporting it to Nintendo support. As an update I think you get the items they pick up back since I recently started to open nook's cranny Antonio, who took the stack of wood pretty much returned it and said thanks for opening the shop lol. It's pretty cute XD
