So lately I've been working on terraforming my island based off of a Happy Island Designer layout that I created, and it has been a STRUGGLE to say the least! I got to thinking about what possibly could make this easier, and came up with something that I think would be really cool! Of course, this will never happen, but it's fun to imagine!

My idea would possibly bring back the Resetti brothers, or maybe even a new NPC or two! Imagine if for X amount of Bells or Nook Miles, you could hire a construction company to do all of your terraforming! It would basically be Happy Island Designer in-game, where you lay out how you want your cliffs and rivers to be via your Nookphone or at Nook's counter or something, and overnight, a "construction company" would come and make your layout a reality!
There would be restrictions of course, like you can't place inclines/bridges, you can't terraform where there's a building, and you have to move your buildings the traditional way. Of course the traditional way of terraforming would be available for those who prefer to put the work in, but this would make things easier for those of us that struggle with terraforming and just want to focus on the design of our islands!

What do you think? Do you have any ideas for endgame features that you know will never actually be implemented, but would be great to have nevertheless?

Something definitely needs to be done to make custom island layouts more approachable.

I honestly don't mind doing all of the actual terraforming by hand...but, you literally need to spend half of a real-world month just moving the buildings once. There are ten villager houses, your own house, two shops, and the museum. That's a total of 14 things. Moving one building at a time...from one place to another...(and then assuming you want to move them all a second time to their final locations)...that's a total of 28 moves. That's basically an entire month of nothing but tedious map building. We need some way to either hide all the buildings while we terraform, or like you said...arrange everything how we want it, and then do it all at once. I'm in favor of anything that accomplishes this.

add outdoors hhd tools while we're at it

as mentioned before, just make it so you can only work on a certain "area" based off of your position when you decide to use it (and just make it activated via the l button. not like it's being used for anything right now anyways)

also, let me put paths completely under buildings. even if it means something I have to discuss with nook about and pay him for

this is a neat idea! honestly, terraforming overwhelms me a bit so i haven’t done much of it but something like this would definitely encourage me a bit! i’d probably have a hell of a time figuring out what i even want aha but having this feature would be great for me and anyone else who finds terraforming intimidating. 😅

I'd love something like this. I thought it would be cool to design a layout and then pay Lloyd based on the amount of changes being done.

That would be really nice. I do find it crappy that we don't have a tile count on the main map. That alone in my opinion would make it easier to plan an island with terraforming in mind.
Surely there will be something in the future that will make the process easier, smoother, and a tad faster?? After an upgrade of RS maybe?

I dont know if I'm fond of the idea.

Animal crossing is all about the long game, rewards for your effort and time spent doing things.

I think it would undermine this a lot if you could just completely redesign your whole island with little to no effort on your part.

Moving buildings is the biggest reason why I time travel now. I can't tell you how many times I have to move a house only to move it back one space over because I decided it would look better.
