Invisalign/Braces

I’m going to get braces for the first time in June. I’m 19 now and I really wish I got them earlier but I was too much of a chicken  Now that I’m older and everyone around me have beautiful straight teeth whereas mine are still crooked really bothers me. I am worried about the pain though. Being older and having braces bothers me though but thankfully I look like I’m 16 so I should be fine. I was considering Invisalign which sounds pretty good to me but since we don’t know anyone who has gotten it, my parents think braces are the safest option. Can’t wait until I have straight teeth!!

I had braces when I was 13 and they were these awful plastic blocks that were glued on to my bottom teeth which actually made them crooked as they were straight to begin with. I also had a wire along my top teeth that was also glued in that would fit in to my bottom brace which was to correct my jaw bite that was apparently in dire need of fixing (my orthodontist had this weird obsession with jaw lines). When my braces were taken out my top teeth were a lot straighter than they had been but because my orthodontist had pretty much traumatised me (he glued my braces in without telling me to begin with) I decided not to go back and finish the treatment.

I'd say my teeth are 90% straight and I can close my mouth without my front teeth sticking out which I'd rather live with than having overly buck teeth for the rest of my life alongside the small gap between them. I'm not going to lie I've thought about going back and getting them straightened out but I know it would require a lot of appointments having teeth removed as my mouth is overcrowded with my wisdom teeth having no room to come through. Also I'd hate the idea of coming out with overly straight teeth and it not looking right on me, as I've seen the lengths some will go to get that perfect smile (including a lot whitening) that in my opinion looks really false as oppose to something more natural that fits in with your face shape etc.

EDIT: Thinking on it a bit more if I did decided to think about correcting my teeth in any way I'd just have the gap between my two front teeth filled in. Weirdly enough the actress Kristen Stewart's teeth looks similar to mine minus the gap and it looks naturally beautiful.
