So, I'm in a sticky situation. Last week, I went to one town and asked Bruce (the only villager I definitely want in this entire game) to move in, and he said yes. Maybe 15 minutes later, I saw an auction for Lopez that was going nowhere, and I figured since I'd saved room for Bruce and maintained an 8 villager max in my town, why not have 2 deer. So I went to another town and asked Lopez to move in, he said yes.

2 days later, Lopez's plot showed up. Then about 3 days ago, he started walking around town, so I considered him 'settled', but still there has been no sign of Bruce.

Every website I've glanced over today has had different opinions on the subject, some people say yes he will still show up because they've done the same thing before, some people say no because I asked Lopez after I asked him. WHICH IS THE DEFINITE ANSWER?

I've prided myself on never TTing in this game, but if someone who knows what they're talking about tells me that Bruce is now, in fact, never coming, I'm just gonna TT the crap outta my game because I can't stand my villagers.

I've seen discussions on this. Sorry I don't have any definite answer to give you since i haven't done the experiment myself but everything I've seen being discussed up to now is that Bruce has been voided by inviting a second character in the same day.

Well...how absolutely infuriating. Hopefully people are looking for my villagers then 'cause they're all gone by tonight.

I have never done exactly what you did, but from the experiences my friends and I have had so far it looks like the last invite overrides all other invites or pickups (through wifi or streetpass). I think your invitation to Lopez overrode your invitation to Bruce.

I've also never had an invited villager take more than 2 days (as in, they showed up on day 2). But I would give it a couple more days just in case.

If you're considering TTing anyway, you could always start going 1 day at a time to see if he shows up? If he shows up within the "week" no harm done, pop back to today and you're good.

Wisdom...

I was initially just going to head to the 12th (the day Eunice moves out) and onwards until everyone current was gone.

From my personal experience, when you invite a second villager in, it cancels out the first request completely. There can never be another animal moving in/out during the "new villager moving period". That's why you can't get a move in and a move out on the same day etc.

Of course there might be people who it worked for. This is just from my experience at the beginning of the game.

Yeah the second invite cancels the first.
I learned that when I invited grizzly first, and then Bianca.
Only Bianca showed up

Yup, done this myself with Miranda and Merengue... Miranda never showed. Thankfully it wasn't the other way round!
