Is anyone else having this glitch?

I opened my island up for a couple people because I'm in the southern hemisphere (just my island, I wanted a change). They brought me a bunch of Bells in exchange to fish and bug hunt, but everytime one of them leaves, anything I did while they were here reverts back to... not even the save from when they got here, a little after that.

I understand that they're coming and going because they're probably filling up their pockets and want to go bring things back to their islands and coming back for more, so I'm not upset, but now those Bell bags are gone (it was over 100,000) and I've paid of Tom Nook twice and it doesn't recognize that I've paid it off.

Is this a glitch that needs to be worked out or am I going to have to just sit and wait and not do anything when someone comes to my island?

When they leave, does it say "someone quietly left"? I've found when that message pops up, anything not included in the last save or autosave is lost. Happened to a bunch of us on my island last night.

Yeah, a few times it does say "someone left quietly." I don't even understand how you leave quietly versus leaving normally... AND I just caught a dorado and while there's company in my town I can't donate or buy anything. Is it rude if I just close the door on my island and say "okay, bye"?

Nah, I don't think so. In NL I'd just say to people, "okay I'm gonna end the session now" and it'd be fine. It's your island, and it sounds like it is messing things up pretty substantially for you.

Yes this happened to me like 3 times! I would sell my turnips, and the darned things would return right back to my pockets! They were like the cat that came back. I just couldn't get rid of em.

It happens when someone else in town disconnects. You'll notice that the game respawns you back at the airport when the blackscreen/cutscene ends, rather than where you last were.

Either their internet was disrupted or they hit the home button and closed the game.

I wish I knew what caused it to happen. It doesn't seem to be a dropped connection, because when that happens everyone gets kicked out.

I'm still trying to find the sturgeon I lost last night. I've found the other critters I lost.

What is annoying is how infrequent autosave is when there are lots of players on the island. After we all lost everything, I would close to save for everyone and have them all come back. When I sent in my other island player (I have two consoles) in later to fish via online (because local connection drops easily for some reason), it autosaved consistently every few minutes.

If their connection drops yes, like if instead of leaving normally they just put the switch in sleep mode while still in your island.
