Is Anyone Else Hunting Bagworms?

I caught a bagworm yesterday, hadn't been looking for it but it was in the last non-fruit tree I had in my town. Here's the story because it's kinda relevant.

I hit the tree with an axe, first chop - heard the sound and saw the bagworm drop down. By the time I got my net out it was back in the tree, so I decided to try the net thing. Hitting the tree with the net did not make the bagworm drop, at least for me, and I tried a few times. Put the net away, shook the tree, down came the bagworm straight away.

It took me two days to catch the bag worm, on the second day I hit a couple of trees with my net and managed to catch it on my third tree.
Still trying to catch the spider though.

Ugh, well, I appreciate all the stories however I'm no closer to one than I was days ago... I even tried TTing to November on my spare DS to increase the odds but then realised they probably don't appear during wifi,... maybe destined to never catch a bagworm D:

I caught mine during the daytime (I don't TT in my main town). For a long time, I was shaking the trees. Then I read somewhere where you just hit the tree with your net, and sure enough, I caught mine quickly. I hit every tree, including fruit trees, cedar trees, etc. Keep at it, you'll get it eventually.
