Bill is in my campsite and my current jock is Rory who I am not crazy about. Is Bill worth the trouble of resetting to try to get him to replace Rory?

Basically. Going off someone’s opinion isn’t going to do you good. Get Bill if you like him. Don’t get him if you don’t. He’s not my personal favorite, but my opinion doesn’t matter in this case.

Tbh I’ve never met or had half the villagers in this game because this is my first AC game. I was just curious what everyone’s opinion is. I do know that I’m not fond of Rory who is currently on my island.
If you’re not fond of Rory, trying out Bill may not be a bad idea. My personal favorite jock is Mac. Bill is one of the best ducks, in my opinion.

I don’t think there is such thing as good or bad jock or any villager. It is all subjective since we all have different tastes.
For me, what is most important to me when it comes to villagers are their designs. Sometimes the vibes I get from them or their hobbies play a factor too. Past experiences with them sometimes affect my opinion as well (I am trying to not let it to and keep an open mind). For example, I love Roscoe and his design but I hate cranky’s singing voice, so he no longer is one I want on my island but I still consider him a favorite. The singing doesn’t make him a bad villager, it just annoys me.
There is Keaton who in New Leaf gave me the flirty vibe which I found was creepy, so I don’t have him on my island or really like him. I also don’t like his design.
Design wise, there are villagers with lipstick or heavy eyeshadow that don’t appeal to me. But that doesn’t make them a bad villager since someone else may love them (same goes with the other examples I gave).
Personally, Bill is okay to me. There are a ton of other jocks I’d rather have than him. Dom, Rudy, Drift, Frobert to name a few.

i like bill. i even bought his card pre-NH because i was considering moving him into one of my NL towns. he's the only other jock i like after kid cat. i suppose it depends how much time you want to waste on the card game, assuming you don't already have a free space. i must've spent somewhere between 30-60 minutes spamming skye the other day before she offered to replace the correct villager. (triggering and winning the card game itself wasn't too tricky tbh.) just remember to exit and close the game before finishing the dialogue bubble.

I think Bill is one of the better jocks in the game and he has a great looking house interior.
