English is the second language I've learned and can speak fluently (to a level where my mind works like someone raised in a bilingual household, which is really just a problem), the first one being german as it's my mother tongue. In school we've also learned french (5 years), spanish (2 years) and dutch (1 year), though I haven't kept up with any of them so I could probably only speak french anymore.

English was probably my first language but also I grew up having to speak some Cantonese.

First language but I'm still not perfect at it, who could be with all of it's bizarre rules that make zero sense? I still stumble over words and mispronounce words I've only ever used in writing, but I am pretty literate and have a decent vocabulary.

English is my first language! I honestly have a lot of respect for those who have managed to learn a great amount of/become fluent in it because it's full of weird rules that have far too many exceptions, strange spelling and a lot of grammar that wouldn't make too much sense in quite a few languages :)

English is my first language but I do know a fair bit of French, though I haven't practised in a while so I'm a little rusty at this moment of time.

Spanish is my first language. I learned English from a young age and was pressured to speak it at home which resulted to me mostly forgetting Spanish for several years. It took a few years to get reacquainted with Spanish again and become fluent in it. Re-learning it was the best decision I've made. It came in handy when learning Italian because of them being romance languages.

I plan on learning Japanese at some point. Maybe Arabic, French, or Korean one day as well.

My first language is Spanish. :)

I learned English when I was younger.

yes english is my first language but i'm also interested in eventually maybe learning japanese and italian.

I was born and raised in cornfield Ohio so I guess you could say that English is my first language. I am currently working on building up my vocabulary and grammar since I don't want to formally talk slang like some Ohioans do.

Tbh I can't imagine being fluent in another language other than your first. I took Spanish in high school for 3 years, and while I can understand it pretty well, I cannot speak it at all. Lol wait til I start German this year in college... :lemon:

I natively speak English. I've always wanted to learn a new language or two but I can't motivate myself to actually try to learn. I'm just a lazy person, unfortunately.

My first language was English but, since my mom is half Thai she taugh me how to say some words later on in my life.

English is my first language, but I've started to pick up learning spanish this year. Albeit, i'm not so great at it.

English is my native/first language but my vocab is in no way exquisite or my grammar for that matter.

Spanish is my first language. I learned English early on and was pressured by teachers to speak it at home. My family were all learning English at the same time so it made things kind of confusing. Eventually, I forgot Spanish and had to relearn it when I traveled to visit extended family. I'm very glad I got to relearn it because it's been so useful and came in handy for Italian later on.

I wish schools in the US embraced learning multiple languages early on.
