Is hacking your town a bad thing?

I actually do edit my town :] AND MY TOWN ONLY!!! If someone asks for something, I'd get it for them, but that's only if I know the person well enough to be friend. I think this makes the game more fun to be honest. New layouts everyday! ;D Its an adventure :]

That's still called hacking...

I don't like to think of it as hacking because hacking makes it sound malicious

No, it's not a bad thing...whatever you need to do to enjoy the game is fine, you paid for the game. But forcing other people that don't want to experience hacking by screwing up the online economy or screwing with other people's towns, I'd say that is wrong, and that's probably the reason so many people in AC forums have a ridiculously strong prejudice against hackers. But as long as you just use it to mess with your own town, it's fine.

I love all the comments about "drowning in power" and "it spirals out of controll". Um...ok. I hack AC:WW and I switch my town up every once in a while to surprise my friends and we have alot of fun in the towns that I build, I have never seeded anyone elses town or done anything bad to anyone elses town. I have codes for "brick seeds" and stupid stuff like that but I deleted them because I had no use for them. And I agree with D.T. you paid for the game do whatever you want with it, break the CD for all anyone cares you paid for it. But if you screw up someone elses game that THEY paid for, then thats wrong. But I dont see anything wrong with messing around with your town.

thank you for realizing that and not being like half the people here and going "=O hacker! OMG RUN! YOUR STUPID!" -.- and also LOLZ at some of the things people are saying they would do to their town if they would hack. You cant do anything thats not "programmed" into the game, like make your house bigger than the biggest it can be by playing the game normally, also you cant add too many bridges, the island is possible and I've done it many times and It looks really nice with your house in the middle and stuff.

One thing I'd do if I could hack is put my house right next to the waterfall...could never get a house there no matter how many times I tried.

I've never considered hacking. Mostly because I didn't know it was possible. I just make the best of the town I get. Works for me. And if I hacked for money.... dude, I would be BORED all the time! All I do is fish and run errands so I can get money. That would be awful.
