Is it a bad idea to cut all your trees in your village?

I got a second game that I like to mess around on. Mostly because I get extra animals I get to know. I was thinking of resetting and making a themed village or just one that I want to try new stuff.
I was thinking of cutting down almost all the trees and just have pine trees and perfect fruits that you shake to much and they die. Or just the dead trees...
I know it would affect some events/bugs/items/money drops but maybe it is a crazy idea. I think it would be really cool. Have you seen anything like that when you visit people?

I think having cedar/pine trees all around wouldn't affect you at all.. I personally prefer cedar trees to the regular trees.. But I think having fruit trees looks kinda cool, mixed in with cedars

In my Star Fox themed town I think I'm gonna have cedars only though.. Maybe a few trees, maybe perfect apples 'cos perfect apples look the best

Tbh depends, some people go for really simplistic towns with a certain amount of trees, I've gone for the forest theme so trees are a priority for me so I plant as many as I can given space and path.

Just remember cedar tree's can't grow in the southern part of your town, so that'll probably have to be full of perfect fruits or something. ^.^

Ooohhh I bet they both look cool! I want to se sometime:) Yeah I like the cedar ones better. They also get lights in the winter! I would it would be creepy to have no trees....cause animal crossing gotta have trees:) I know some people use the died trees for themes but I never really see it.

I didn't know this. Is there any reason? I know bushes can't go by rocks. I have a path with bushes but it runs by a rock:(

Cedar trees only grown on the top side of your village in New Leaf. Oh, and during the holidays, they look...amazing <3

On the topic of cedar trees, how close to the ocean do they need to be before they can't grow? Because I have a few in the southern part of my town and they have been there since the beginning of the game for me.

On the main topic, I think it is up to you. I make money using my fruits, so I can't imagine not having any at all, but if you want to I don't see why you can't do it. It does sound neat.

They grow on the top-half of your town.

This there a site that says what wont grow where? Like bushes. I have a ton of bushes and one only had flowers. Go fig:) Is cedars not growing on the lower half a bug?

Nope, it's intentionally programmed for, I think, all AC games.

Maybe...it is Tom Nooks way of selling more trees! I don't get why it would matter where the grow...they look so cool:(

My guess would be because a lot of evergreens grow in northern/cooler areas in real life. Just always been my assumption, anyway, as to why they do that in the game! :)

I never actually checked to see how far down the map you can go before they just die. Sorry i can't be of much help. All i know is its definitely in the northern part that they can grow.

Ohh! I thought I was somehow repeatedly messing up planting my cedar saplings. Well, now I feel stupid...

I did the same thing too. Wondered why they wouldnt grow. I got so mad. Then i found out. D:

If you look at your map and draw an imaginary line horizontally across your town (in the middle), then I'm pretty sure the top half is the total area you can grow cedar saplings. I've tried before to get as close to the bottom half of my town using that line with cedar saplings c:

Everybody is right when they say that upper half is the only place you can plant cedars. An easy way to tell what the halves are is to go by the arrow that allows you to look at your list of villagers. The middle of that is the halfway point. Anywhere above that, cedars can grow.

In the past, I think it represented mountains in the north, beach in the south. In previous games there were specific parts cedars and palms could grow...but they've made growing palms easy and obvious this time. Cedars stayed the same.

It depends on what kind of town you want. Do you want a rural, urban-ish, or a mix of in between? I probably want a mix between fruit, cedar, and pine trees since I like having some trees. I think when I rebuild my path, I'm gonna cut down all my trees then replant them as I see fit. :)
