i was wondering because i never use it because it hasnt been that lucrative for me are there strats that make it lucrative

I heard pile of cash as a hot item is a good way to earn bells, but you need the bell boom ordinance to get more from it. Without the ordinance, its not worth crafting and selling.

pile of cash+bell boom is a cheat tool, since it will always sell higher than it costs to make. literally prints money. but also, good luck getting those stars to align

outside of that though, on a more realistically available option, iron recipe diys sell decently, imo. one moneymaking strat I had during early gameplay was just to keep all the iron nuggets set aside, and then when a diy that only took them showed up for hot items, I crafted as many as I could to then sell

I've encountered the Pile of Cash DIY and Bell Boom scenario before. Made 54 million bells doing it, and probably could've gotten more had I not grew bored. The thing is, like what others mentioned, it's an increasingly rare scenario to achieve the more DIY's you learn. Ignoring that, it ultimately depends on what you already have material-wise. Anything that requires a large amount of iron nuggets usually brings in more bells, but there are also wood items that can bring in lots of bells.

Generally, in most cases, if the DIY is more complex to craft, it will pay out more when listed as a hot item. I honestly wouldn't bother with crafting/cooking a bunch of food or DIY's that are very easy to make, as they usually only pay out <500 or so bells even as a hot item. At that point, you'd just be fulfilling that Nook Miles goal and not really generating a bell profit.

ftr, when I say cheating, it's not anything like modifying the game code or inputting a password or other behavior. it's simply taking advantage of a loophole in the game's design

similar to the lazy camper trick in new leaf. which once you know how to manipulate it, will always pay out at a massive profit, compared to selling the stuff at re-tail
