Is the game+NFC reader bundle a limited item?

I don't think it is. Nothing Nintendo has said (that I've seen) has said it'll be limited edition. They sent out an email not that long ago where they went out of their way to state the amiibo Festival bundle with Isabelle and Digby was "whilst stocks last" but they didn't add any note to the NFC bundle.
The game & the reader are not limited editions - but probably will only be available to buy together for a limited time - ie while stocks last.
Its a lot cheaper to buy the reader with the game, well it is for me in the UK, so if you are after the game & a reader (cos you have an older 3ds), then it pays to buy the bundle.

As far as I was told by my Gamestop they are not a limited item in quantity. They will make as many as needed, however I would order it now just incase they sell out of the stock and you have to wait for a new shipment of them.
