Is the new cutthroat economy getting to your throat?

I was into online trading for NL in a massive way... I got so many rare items and loved the experience.

But personally with NH being so new, I'm enjoying the slower pace of collecting things as they become available. My island is moving in a nice direction naturally and I'm happy to not force it. Also I have quite a lot of RL friends to play with, so we are mostly just sharing cute items via post for free <3

I wouldn't judge others for playing how they want, but it doesn't affect my game experience at all, as I'm not interested in accelerated gameplay personally :)

It's like the hoarding people are doing in the corona crisis, get as much bells as you can, trade as high as you can and basically do what Tom Nook would do.

Was this really necessary?

To those that feel they need to rush, it's just a game of patience. It's best to let the game progress slowly because if you have everyting unlocked in one week, it'll be boring.

It would be boring to you, and that's perfectly fine and valid. But one thing I wish more people on this forum realized is that what makes a game fun for you may not be what makes a game fun for someone else. If someone mostly likes this game for the design aspect, they will likely not be bored with it in one week just because they've unlocked everything. That's when the fun will start.

I like trade-for-trade or trade-for-service. I'm definitely in the market for turnip prices and Nook Miles items for their color exclusives. I'm also really thinking of buying bait because I'm so sick of hammering A. I try to preserve it as best I can by resetting when I don't catch good fish, but it does deplete and I dread making more. I'm thinking it's worth it to buy even if the market is crazy right now, and I've been watching prices to get a feel for the typical range. I can't catch a golden trout or tuna to save my life and it's driving me nuts.

I'm definitely staying away from villager purchasing in this game cuz it ruined the fun for me in NL.

I haven't done any trading or purchasing from other players, as it ruins the fun for me. I have crafted gifts for other people, though. I enjoy that.

I intentionally don't have an online account yet. I want to collect as much stuff as I can by myself. This game doesn't seem to have too much exclusive stuff yet (no regional holiday or DLC items), so I don't think it matters.

I did trade online a bit TOO much in NL. I think it ruined some fun for me, as I didn't get things myself.

Personally, I'm a bit upset that people are more interested in selling items for Nook Tickets instead of Bells, or even TBT for the most part. They are something I'd rather not give out to others and use for myself since I don't really get a lot of time to play, so Nook Tickets are a bit sparse for me.
