I'm talking about some bad thing related to the TBT Marketplace. Is there a penalty for abusing the rating system by voting someone else's shop down or voting your shop up to get yourself in business? I know that selling duped items will get you in trouble, but what about what I was talking about?

And no, I'm not doing this. Just seeing that one thread made me wonder.
I'm pretty sure it just means that someone's being a jerk. I don't think anything's given for them though. Personally, I don't see anything bad about someone rating their shop up first off, considering the ratings given by other people will change it anyway.
Nobody cares about ratings anyway and, if they really want the service, they can always check through the thread themselves to decide. Ratings aren't a huge feature.
Nope, people will still be jerks. One lil sticky thread won't change that. It's nice to have a good rating on your thread, but it's not the end of the world if someone tries to mess that up. People will generally check within the thread to see how things are, regardless of the rating.
So, as long as you continue to provide great customer service and products, people will still come back, regardless of the rating. Word of mouth helps too, in promoting your shop.
