Is there a way to make villagers move?

I have some villagers that I don't like at all, they're really ugly and I hate how they act. I've been told that the Problematic Citizens option from Isabelle does nothing, except reset their greeting, catchphrase, or clothes if something goes wrong. So, exactly like the title says, is there any way to make villagers move away from your town?

I hear that hitting them with shovels, nets, etc. makes them move, as well as sending them trash in the mail. I don't know if this is a guaranteed way to make them move, though, because I've never tried it before.

Yep yep, just hit them with a shovel, net, or ax
Also burying pitfalls and pushing them into it helps too.

It worked for me! I got Renee out with 3 days of doing this.

It just resets their catchphrase, greeting and clothes. It's mainly used if a friend's villager moves into your town they have a nasty catchphrase or something of the sort, or if you've taught them something bad and decide you want to reset it.

Can you make multiple villagers move out at once, I want to get rid of all but 2-3 of my villagers?

I'm guessing you have to "persuade" (hit them with shovel/ax/etc. and push them in pitfalls and stuff) to move one by one. Or if you really dislike them, you can just reset your game, but I don't think it'll be worth it.

Definitely doing this with Diva asap. Just to clarify, I don't remember from WW but their houses leave with them, correct ? It's not like they just move out and a new character moves in... Silly question but I'm just wondering, since the main reason I dislike her is that she moved in /right behind my house/. ;___; And she's a purple frog that wears makeup and her name is DIVA... Smh.
