hey, sorry if this isn't meant to be here. i'm seeing a lot of people talk or mention about the "wiiu" version of the game. is that actually a thing? i would have never expected it since the wiiU is like a +1 spinoff of the wii.

I doubt that it will be announced this year as it will take at least 3 or 4 years to develop an entire new Animal Crossing game for the Wii U console. That's IF there is actually one in the making. Nintendo has been really iffy lately due to the poor sales of the Wii U and their huge profit loss. I hope for a bright future for Nintendo.

People are hoping that there will be an Animal Crossing game that will be announced at E3 for Wii U.

BTW, the Wii U is not a spin off of the Wii. It's a successor to the Wii just like the GameCube was a successor to the Nintendo 64.

nope, not from what i've seen so far. people believe there's a new one in development since animal crossing's become wildly successful these past few years, and we saw some updated character models in a mini "game" (if you could even call it that) on the wii u called animal crossing plaza.

personally i'd love to see an animal crossing game with the wii u's amazing graphics. (have you seen mario kart 8? that game is beautiful and the animal crossing racetrack brings tears to my eyes.)

Not yet, we will just have to sit tight in the meantime. Hopefully we get an announcement at E3, but nothing is of course guaranteed. One can hope though! :)

It says a lot about Nintendo's marketing of the WiiU, that even some Nintendo fans don't quite know what the WiiU is.
I'm keeping everything crossed for an E3 announcement. It's been a long time now since the last console release. Animal Crossing has been popular in Smash Bros and is a sought after Amiibo. The new DLC in Mario Kart was heavy on the AC and there's a new spinoff game due out. What else, NA recently got rare items via the post office. So there's been a lot goin on AC wise.
I gotta go calm down. Getting hyped! :D

I wonder if it's possible that Nintendo will completely omit making an Animal Crossing game for the Wii U. Like another person said, the Wii U Sales haven't necessarily been the greatest xD. Personally, I would rather see another Animal Crossing game for the 3DS (that is not a spinoff) because I've always preferred the handheld versions, but that's just me.

I don't know if the WiiU is doing well enough that they would put more games out. I think it would be kinda cool though, the graphics would be better? ; v ; If it does happen, I'm not sure I'd even get it tbh ;w;

I'd like one for the Wii U! Might be me missing some things, but there really aren't too many good games out for the Wii U at the moment, and by good games, I mean like entirely new ones, not "HD" rehashes and the old games I can get off the virtual console. I'm craving something new, my poor system is just sitting there collecting dust! I never played any AC games aside from New Leaf. I heard Wild World was great, but City Folk was terrible. A lot of people seem divided on whether AC makes a better handheld title or home-console title. I can definitely appreciate the convenience of reaching over for your 3DS, doing dailies, and then moving on, whereas the console, you've got to turn it on and wait for it to load, just to water your flowers or check out shops.

In the same right though, if the new console version were to provide many more extensive activities to focus on, dailies might still be there, but you'd also have many other things to do in your town- like creating stores, roads, paths, and PWP's, on a grander scale with much more diverse option, as well as more easier access to them. I don't know, I'm excited for the potential though, especially since so many people have so many great ideas that I hope that the AC team will share in as well.

This just popped up on my tumblr dash today. I sure hope it's real!

It would make sense for Nintendo to make an AC game for Wii U. I have faith that the Wii U games that are out now and the ones soon to be released will make up for the poor Wii U sales! I am a Nintendo fan and I'm proud!
