Is there an amiibo queue limit? (Did inviting amiibo from the campsite change? (Maybe Sanrio are different?)

I was planning on having all six Sanrio prepped with one day when I first got them, so that scanning them in for their items was more productive, but my preparations on the first two seemed to disappear after I scanned the fifth and sixth ones. The first two forgot their first visits/gifts, so I had to give them four altogether, but one of the last four remembered and only needed three total. I haven't tried the other three yet. Maybe more than the first two forgot. I haven't scanned any of my previous amiibo that I had prepared two or three days on already, so I don't know if they forgot, too.

How does one check one's amiibo settings? Does it tell you which ones the game remembers you inviting previously?

Another update: Chelsea also remembered being invited and gifted once a month ago; I only had to invite/gift her two times since then (today and yesterday) to get her to agree to move in.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that there is some kind of limit on how many amiibo remember visits to the campsite, and that it might be four. But maybe the Sanrio ones really are different somehow, and the game only limits those to four for some reason.

I can safely vouch for 8, but nothing beyond that. I thought I'd mentioned before that I always have 1 of each personality type 'in reserve' (so 2 scan ins). The only time I've had a villager 'forget' that I'd invited them before was when I had each personality type scanned in, then decided to change the Normal I wanted (I had Kitt scanned in twice and decided I wanted Daisy), so I scanned in Daisy 3 consecutive times. When I went to move Kitt in I had to scan her in all 3 times again.

Now that I think about it, maybe it could be 7...I haven't scanned in an Uchi in ages...I've had them all so there's no need.

I'm about to have someone move out, this is usually when I restart my cycle, so I'll pay specific attention this time around and post my findings. I do find it an interesting subject.

Ah, right, the personality thing. It's still so mysterious.

I really hope someday someone who knows how to look at the game's data will be able to explain this whole amiibo thing. Either that, or I'll somehow discover that I was mistaken about the first two Sanrio that I scanned needing to start over their three visits. ^o^;>

Not necessarily, you could be on to something. Like I said, I didn't want to waste visits with the Sanrio villagers when I saw this thread, so I never kept them in reserve, I always moved them right in.

What I'm about to begin is 2 scan ins of each regular amiibo (I'll probably aim for 6 since I just realized I have no Smugs left to scan in either) and report how that goes. Then next time, I'll include a Sanrio villager in the mix and see how that goes.

@kiwikenobi experiment #1 finished.

Without TTing (I didn't know if it would affect the process) I scanned in a Peppy over two days, then a Snooty, then a Normal, then a Cranky, then a Lazy, then a Jock.

I just now went and scanned in Freckles (who was the Peppy I started with) and she agreed to move in.

So for anyone interested I can safely say, your game will remember 6 amiibo cards (at least) at a time :)

Moving forward I realized there were a lot of variables to consider...will a Sanrio scan in differently, does the passing of time affect the log, do the personalities matter etc etc.

I haven't decided which to test next...

I invited the last two Sanrio to my island now. Toby and Chai both remembered their first visit from back in March. In between, I also scanned in Marshal, who I had fully prepared with three visits already from before the Sanrio update, and he was also ready to go upon being scanned in once. This is noteworthy both because he'd been scanned before the update, and because he is also a smug like Toby, and they both remembered their previous visits.

At this point, I'm suspecting that it really is Sanrio amiibo that are different somehow, and the game only remembers campsite visits for four of them at a time... or my game glitched out on those two for some reason, and they're actually no different from any other amiibo. ^o^;>
