In new horizons, if the only thing preventing you from 5 stars is things like dropped clothing and furniture, then the lily of the valley will still grow

Wow is this confirmed? If so, that's great news for me, i'd given up on the idea of getting 5 stars because I like the idea of leaving objects dropped around for visitors to take home. I don't really care about 5 stars but wanted the flower. I'm still only 2 star atm tho

Yup I'm pretty sure. Plus it also happened to me when I dumped things on the ground bc my storage is full - I still had the flower popping up on cliffs

Aw man, it's a bummer that we can't drop the mushrooms back on to the ground without being penalized for it. I really like the way they look.

I wonder why Nintendo didn't add mushrooms to the exempt list, seeing as mushrooms do naturally spawn on the ground.

The only thing I could possibly think of is they don't want us to "hoard" seasonal DIY materials in our non-storage? But like... That's so dumb haha.
I really wish the threshold was just a bit higher at least! 15 is a bit harsh. It'd be cool if they gave us a "pocketful" of leeway on dropped items. Like if we just had to dump our pockets every once in a while, we could be forgiven. I know the rating fluctuating isn't a big deal, but also... I feel like 40 mushrooms would look pretty dang good.

I read somewhere that Lillies grow in 4 star islands although at much slower rate.

Does anyone know of the rules changed for the 1.9 update? I'm pleasantly surprised they started spawning despite the pile of free diys lying in my entrance. I never expecting to see any!

Huh, whaddayaknow it's suddenly 5*.
I swear the only daily change is planting shiny spot bell trees, which was never a suggestion before. /shrug
