Is this signature reasonable??

I just found out that I unintentionally made my signature too large, and I edited it slightly, but I'm not positive if it's small enough or not, so I'm afraid to click "save"?

Anyway, this is what it would look like:

Compared to the old one, all I did was put the text under the spoiler with the other half of the signature. But I'm worried that the 252x240 image + the spoiler tag beneath it might still be too big, and I couldn't figure out how to measure it properly on my own.

Well the height limit is 250 so the image is out there, just resize the image and make it smaller

Make your picture 200 pixels high
250 pixels = in

You can also add that line if text, but it cannot be any bigger than the size of font I am using now

You can just save the height guide and compare it if you don't don't feel like measuring your signature yourself.

Well the height limit is 250 so the image is out there, just resize the image and make it smaller

I'm just confused because when I click "properties" on the image, it says the height is 240, and the width is 252. (Sorry, I'm an undereducated n00b and don't know how height dimensions work..)

And I don't know how to resize the image. I tried doing that to make an avatar earlier using SumoPaint, and all that did was squeeze it and make it look weird.

It's technically within the limits I believe. But personally I think the image doesn't need to be quite so large vertically... There's no reason it needs to be taller than like 160 px. I'd resize it for you myself if it weren't for the transparency.

Your spoiler counts towards your height as well.

What about what's under the spoiler in my "edited" version, then? Because that's what my signature originally looked like, before I added the image of Mephisto and put the town info under a spoiler.

To my eyes, it looked about the same height as what the signature that was removed looked like.. And I had it for like, a week or longer and it was never removed. Which is why I didn't think it would be an issue to add the image and put the other half in a spoiler beneath it.

That's actually the exact same height as mephisto. Without the spoiler, it should be okay. Because as I just told you the spoilers count towards your height. It's an additional 50 pixels.

Mods probably just didn't notice your sig was over the limit until you added the new picture and drew attention to it.

GAH! I used SumoPaint to compare that image with my background edited image of Mephisto (because obviously I can't rely on my eyes alone), and it just BARELY fits on it's own:

So I guess that means no text link, unless I put it on the side…

I know is sucks that we are such sticklers about it but signatures are only to be 250 pixels high (you may add one line of standard text, however). I recommend scaling the image down to 200 pixels in height and standardizing your text, then you will be perfectly in line with the signature rules


Edit: If you change your signature to what you are showing in the above post you'll be within the rules as well. It's your choice!

Really? But the image alone just barely falls under the rules.. Wouldn't the text/link above it make it too big?

Also, another stupid question (sorry): with the table that allows you to have something on the right and something on the left, are links not compatible??

I ask because I tried to put the link on the left and the image of Mephisto on the right, but it wasn't working. Yet when I remove the link and replace it with "test", the text shows up fine.

Am I doing something wrong or..?
