Audio diary, something really strange is going on. When I walked into town today, there was no one except for Mayor Eva and I. I checked all the houses and everywhere in town. There was nobody. I asked Porter where everyone went, and he awkwardly turned his head away and mumbled "Nowhere." I knew he was lying, but decided not to push it. But I checked with Pelly about mail and she handed me a fat stack of envelopes. Most of them were letters from villagers, but one from the Council stated that all villagers would report to the Badlands for orientation. It was signed by the head council member, and there was nothing else.

What makes me really worried is the orientation part. What is orientation? Why is this happening? It's never happened before, so I don't know why it should start now. I considered that they may become Council members, but I pushed it away since they don't really need more Council members at this point, and they don't recruit from villagers. It's frightening, though. It was completely silent except for when a train rolled by. Who knows if those villagers will come back? All the shops in Main Street were closed as well, and their owners seemed to be missing. Why is this happening? What have we done? When will it end? So many questions that I don't have answers for...
