Island Newspaper appreciation

Folks... I am obsessed with the island newspaper on the NookLink app.

I know it's probably a crazy thing to say and I hope I don't sound ridiculous but it might be one of me favorite 2.0 aditions

I've been checking it everyday and I love the design, I love the writing, I love how lively it makes the island feel. It really got me appreciating day-to-day island living stuff more and has been an incentive to stop time travelling.

So I wanted to make a post here to ask if everyone has been enjoying it as well! Maybe we could share some of our faborite issues too This is mine from this week!

This is so cute! Seeing yours has me motivated to connect my app again so I can see mine. I enjoy the game so much more when I'm focused on my villagers rather than TTing to landscape/decorate, and this may just help...

Omg I love the newspaper too! It’s so thorough and such an unexpected and fun feature. I love how it even logs things like gifts villagers give to you etc. it’s precious. Here are some recent highlights from mine lol

It’s super cute! I also appreciate that it tracks the previous day’s turnip prices - I don’t always get online for the mornings when I am dealing with the Stalk Market.

I read somewhere that, while the English-language version is full of puns and jokes, the Japanese version is just plain statement of fact. Like, in Japan it would just say "Kai caught a seas bass" but in the western version it says that I was "reel surprised" !! I don't know how true that is, as I don't speak Japanese, but it's more amazing to me how much effort the devs obviously put into this ... It's such an inconsequential little part of the app that a lot of people don't even realise is there, but a lot of work has gone into it and I appreciate that !!

Me too! And there are so many articles about little things like "River and Kiki had a great conversation today!" Like, yes, we did!

And the funiest part to me is that I don't know if they made ir a singular potato on purpose or not because I actually did only plant one potato yesterday

Me too! I haven't missed a day since discovering the newspaper.
Also, I love the blatent ego-boosting articles calling you a "master gift giver" with "flawless" taste in music and suggesting everyone make time to talk to you

I wonder who the reporter is? Yea those blatant ego-boosting articles can make you feel good. They good to read when your having a bad day.
