My island will be based around the four seasons and has four residents (each of them representing a season). But I am not sure how I will implement that idea (regarding the island name, if I should split the island into four sections and so on). If anyone has some ideas I would love to hear them.

Also feel free to share your island theme ideas. :)

Hmmm, you could go with a neutral decorating theme, such as natural (wooden, etc) but have designated outdoor furniture spots dedicated to seasonal furniture that you swap out with the seasons? Then change anything else minor.

Wonderful idea!

If it's possible to change the river exits(where they meet the sea), maybe divide the island into 4 sections with a river/rivers? And put furniture that represents the sections season into it, e.g. mushroom furniture in the autumn one.

If we're able to get decorative trees that look like they are in a certain season, you could use them to highlight the season of each section, so that even when it's summer, the winter section would look wintery with trees that have fake snow on them. I believe PC has something like this with trees forever in cherry blossom, but correct me if I'm wrong.

You could also use patterns to make the winter section to look like some sections have snow on them in seasons that don't naturally have snow.

I know I want to have one area be kinda fairy and whimsical like with lots of pastel colors and pretty lights and another area be sort of dark and haunted and run down.

But I think for the rest I might just try to match with the current season. I don’t know. There’s so much to it. It’s hard to plan it out.

I have so many ideas for themes, but I think I might have to wait to see what new furniture sets and stuff we're going to get before I decide for sure.

I know I want to make different sections, like I'll probably put all the facilities together to make a sort of shopping center.

If I have enough furniture that fits the theme, I would really like something very ancient Greece themed, and maybe a creepy little graveyard with iron fence and creepy trees!

Thanks!!

Super natural sounds gorgeous! I think Animal Crossing has a lot of good decorations for themes like that. I'm sure you could make your deserted island into a lush tropical paradise! :)

suburban neighborhood, beach-y boardwalk-y, forest-y, small town seemin', magical/witchy aesthetics i think are all something that would be easy to make in game.

since we can have 3 levels of island, each one will have a different theme.

the first level will be where my character is and while i have no clue about landscaping yet, i at least have some room ideas aha

the second level will be themed around seasons and nature and will be very colourful.

the third level will be more mellow and will have a whimsical forest vibe :3

I've been thinking about designated areas with no central idea for a theme yet. A neighborhood, shop area, recreational zone, hiking trail with lost items, gardens and parks throughout, and maybe a clever cutesy river path that is yet to be determined. Think, morse code...

I want to base it on John Wick's world, from the Continental Hotel, to the Bowery, etc.

A hint of the mystical, mixed with modern and desolate surroundings.

I've never gone modern, that would only be part of it.

I'll rewatch all three chapters to get ideas.
I already know what I want the Continental to look like, so I hope Gracie is around early on.

For a seasons town, splitting the town into 4 sounds good. For the name, you could maybe look at words relating to change, time, years, cycles, maybe even life/death if you see winter as dying and spring as rebirth. There are many options!

I personally have trouble sticking to a theme and just put whatever looks good to me, so I think it's really cool to see dedicated towns

I really am hoping to make mine a blend of rococo/tropical. I think it will be a fun juxtaposition!

I also might go with a cottagecore style island if the first theme doesn’t work out. Spent all afternoon making villager lists to match each theme! I’m so excited. ; v;

At the moment, my idea for the island is to have it as some old abandoned oil island in the North Sea. I want to have a corner of the island that is full of oil barrels and other construction-y looking items. Who knows though.

What it's probably going to come down to for me at this point is having different themed sections/areas of the island, seeing as it's one island per console.

You all have such good ideas! Really waiting and planning beforehand it seems!

I think I will go with same theme I did in New Leaf too, nordic theme.
I love how the cabin-styled houses look in New Horizons so they will fit perfectly! So I would take animals which have a cabin styled house, or if we can modify them, I'll take goat villagers!

i'm going to do the opposite of my old town starsong - dark, gloomy, unstructured, and with lots of layers! i'm hoping to make it feel mountainous, but we'll see how that goes.

i tried to do towns like this in NL, but they never turned out right so i'm excited to try again in NH!

I want to have a kind of magical/celestial island, very pink and cute and illuminated but with an underlying theme of magic!
