What do you guys think about skin color? Do you think since we're on an island that the tanning system will come back from New Leaf or do you think we would get the option to pick out skin color like in Pocket Camp?

I really hope its the ladder. It used to suck getting that perfect tan just to lose it if I stopped playing for only a day or so. Also having skin color options would be great for people of varying races imo.

I think you can fully customize your character, skin color included. I'm excited for it! I'm not super dark skinned, but I'm tan enough that the default character skin is way too light for me. Now I can make a character that looks more like me without having to work on a tan. Although it would still be cool to implement the tanning system in the summer.

We can choose skin tone from the start.

But there's no reason that that means it can't temporarily change from tanning.

Oh I see what you meant. You're saying if I choose a lighter tone, there shouldn't be a reason for me not to want to get darker with the regular tanning system. Right? Lol wasn't sure at first.

It wouldn't make sense for tanning to return - if we can customize our character at any time, you could just reset your tan, making it somewhat pointless.

Too, part of the problem with the tanning system, besides the fact that PoC have to put in the extra effort to tan their characters, is that if you're the palest white person ever, there's no way you're going to tan to black IRL. Personally, I'd probably get sunburnt long before I got anywhere near that. I think most people find it more annoying than anything, but if you want your character to have a tan in-game because you just got back from vacation and are tanned IRL, for instance, then nothing's stopping you from changing your character's skin color temporarily.

Just because skin tones are in the game doesn't mean tanning will be removed.
