I put in 2 job applications today, 1 for red mango and 1 for Best Market. Hopefully i get hired for one of them {i really would rather red mango} but the Best Market one took an hour to complete so i sort of want it to be worth the time. I'm currently 15 and have my working papers and was wondering if anyone had any tips for a part time job for someone in highschool
When you said Red Mango I was like "wait....... the mangoes in ACNL"? HAHA, it's 'cause I never heard of it.
I worked at a supermarket when I was a teeeeenager. It wasn't that hard tbh, I had a great manager who took care of me and assisted me when I needed his help. Some employers don't take high schoolers seriously so you have to make a great first impression. c: Be confident, smile, shake their hands firmly, and well, there's more stuff. If you need advice on interviews I can help.
Anyways, IMO, having a part time job in high school isn't as demanding as it is in university. More chills. That being said, try to manage your time/schedule with school and work and get in a good habit with it so you can carry it onto university. c:
If you have any specific questions please feel free to ask ^^
I've never had a job before, but I'm turning 16 soon, so the pressure to at least prepare myself for work is gonna come up sooner or later. Terrified because my parents believe that you should "set off as you intend to go" and go head-first into whatever you intend to do for life.
In reality, I'll probably just get a job that pays enough to support my living circumstances, assuming the opportunity will someday arise to live alone, though there are a lot of things I do now that I would like to turn into a job somehow. I'm an aspiring 3D modeller, animator, and asset creator, which in short is a digital artist. I'm not sure how beneficial that would be to anyone, or if I'd end up self-employed forever with a career like that, but all my other dreams are pretty unrealistic. I'd like to be a musician, because the reason I learnt CGI was so I could accompany my music with visuals, but again, you can't exactly get a job as a musician, can you?
So, retail will probably be my path, at least for a little while.
I've never had a job, I plan to go into the floral industry after college (which hopefully will start this winter). I am also considering a degree in Baking/Pastry Arts.
