judy wearing some weird dress

so judy started wearing a new dress today that i didn't give her
at first i thought it was a custom design because it's kind of weird looking, but i don't have this design anywhere in my island

trying to figure out how she got it
might just be one of the default outfits they wear
but i've had judy for a long time now and this is the first time she wears this

edit: turns out she got the custom design from one of the people in my best friend list who visits my island every now and then. i guess she got the design just from talking to him? my friend didnt give it to her, she just picked it up on her own.

Did you get Judy from another person? The villagers do wear custom designs from their previous islands. That looks like it's supposed to be Zenitsu from Kimetsu no Yaiba/Demon Slayer.

People can also put their own custom designs in your Able Sisters, so I would double check that too in case

now that i know that it's from an anime it makes it hilarious. no idea where she got it from or how she got it, but being a secret cosplayer adds some character for sure.

i know that visitors can put up their own designs in your tailor's shop, so i would check that. i'm not sure if they can wear designs just if a visitor has that design in their own town...but if this design isn't in your tailor's shop then i don't know how else she would have gotten it.

are you 100% sure that the person you adopted her from didn't have this design?

probably but it doesn't bother me so i'll just leave it as is

this person is in my best friend list so i don't know if that makes a difference

but he seemed surprised about judy wearing the outfit so my guess is they just pick it up simply from talking to a player, which is kind of scary! at least this outfit is cute. weird, but cute.

I'm pretty sure the entire point of complaining to Isabelle about inappropriate clothing is to get rid of custom designs, so if this ever happened again and you didn't like the design then I think it would immediately go away after complaining to Isabelle about it lol

I dont mind this one enough to complain. I think it's kind of funny to have her be a secret cosplayer. But that's good to know in case any of my villagers end up wearing a design I dont like.

Yes, specifically those magical girl kind of animes (i.e. Sailor Moon and Sakura Cardcaptor).
