i got my house fully expanded and i was like, ''what, thats it?'' the only room we are allowed to expand to the fullest is the one in the middle. The other 3 on the ground floor is not and that bums me out a lot as im used to having large rooms back in NL. As for the exterior, we can't ''transform'' it to look like castles or mansions. We are only allowed to change its color scheme.

same - i guess it’s not that big of a difference but it still kinda sucks aha

The rooms start at the size of the first New Leaf expansions, or even larger for the other floors.

i kinda like the smaller size but thats just me. i always wanted some smaller rooms, i could never decide how to fill out those gigantic ones.

I don't mind the sizes of the rooms, but I definitely understand people wanting bigger rooms for their decorations. I find it a bit easier to decorate (since I also like rooms with lots of clutter in it), but I can see how a lot of people can be upset or feel limited when designing their interiors. I'm sad the exterior models are gone, though.

not sure why they’d force smaller rooms upon us instead of giving us size and shape options. rectangle rooms could’ve been cool otherwise

I agree, there's no reason to make the house element lesser than New Leaf.

I'd prefer it if once you had completely paid off your house, you could get to choose your style and size yourself. Like it could be as big as New Leaf (or even bigger!), but you could also choose smaller variants. That would have been cool.

Even with the ability to move in up to 8 human houses, I'm pretty bummed about the smaller room sizes on the first floor. I'm pretty indifferent on the 2nd floor and basement resizing – there's more total area but the rectangular dimensions are definitely a mix up! I think the best solution would be to allow choices for everything: smaller/middle/large room sizes and square/rectangular dimensions when upgrading. If they added that along with New Leaf's exterior sizes, there could be so much variety of houses! Here's to hoping for a future update haha

I was bummed at first too, I was always a maxed out (big) room person as well, but I think that smaller rooms will give a certain cozy feel as they can be made into bathrooms and reading rooms, etc. I do wish the rooms was a little deeper.

Also, there is a lot of customization options for the outside of your home once you've gotten to that point. Still the same structure, just different exterior styles, etc.

The one thing that is a missing standout for me is the lack of windows on the back main wall for the top floor. That would've been cool - imagine a sofa tucked under a window with the natural light coming through!

I'm horrible at interior decorating, so the less space the better for me =p but I can understand why people want more space. I've seen some absolutely beautiful interior decors!

I don’t really mind the size since I thought the rooms were pretty big before anyway, but I’m a little disappointed about not being able to customize the outside of the house. The villager houses all look so cute and I guess I assumed we’d be able to do it.

I like it. I always had to put so much stuff in my rooms to keep them from looking half done, and some of the rooms don't lend themselves to lots of furniture (bathroom?). This will let me decorate with only things I really like, rather than trying to come up with filler to get rid of empty space.
