So I just finished Kirby 64: The Crystals Shards for the first time! =)
Anyways, Kirby 64 is a lot like Yoshi's Story.
Both games are really short and simple but once you play through both games, you can go back and do various things. In Yoshi's Story, you can go back and unlock new levels and in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, you can go back and find all the Crystal Shards.

Now, here is my question. Why do people love Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards but they hate Yoshi's Story?

You just made a rather sweeping generalization near the end there.

In fact, it's a wrong one entirely -- people who disliked Yoshi's Story tend to also dislike Kirby 64... for obvious reasons.

I like both games, though. Perhaps I need to take off the rose-tinted glasses, but whatever. I've replayed them recently just to see if they still hold up, and, in fact, they do. So I don't see how the bashing is justified. Sure, both games are "kiddy"... but who cares?

I can play Resident Evil 4 AND Yoshi's Story. Haha.

I know people who say they hate Yoshi's Story but yet they adore Kirby 64.
Even though, Kirby 64 is a little harder than Yoshi's Story.

I think the problem was that Yoshi's story deviated somewhat from the classics like Yoshi's Island. For example Yoshi's story was relatively easy as well as a change in gameplay since now it was exploration based when you had to find all of the fruit to advance while in Yoshi's Island it was a simple point A to Point B kind of game. Kirby on the other hand never truly changed his gameplay. The biggest change however was the ability to combine powers which probably opened up the consumers interest to the game. There is a difference between good changes and bad changes.

Kirby and the crystal shards is the best game ever!
I borrowed the game for the 64 but now I have it for the Wii!
