Which scenario is worse?

After many years without a new mainline Animal Crossing installment, its fanbases are becoming increasingly impatient every time the franchise misses a potential reveal. Remember when Animal Crossing: New Leaf was first "announced" at E3 2010 via screenshots, but then AC fans became worried when further information took a long while for to come up? Welp, good times.

Here comes a difficult question for you guys. Which scenario is worse?

Not announcing a mainline installment for a while, OR
Not seeing more information about an already announced upcoming installment for a while

Make you call, preferably with detailed explanation.

The first is worse for me because we are left waiting for an installment. Questioning if we'll get one.

On the otherhand, the 2nd option leaves us in excitement!

Having no announcement about the installment is worse for me. I'm wondering if it's in development or if it is just dead. No news never feels like good news to me. It plays with my head.

I don't know.

I'd rather nintendo would be straight with the public, and just answer yes or no to an AC Switch game.

I'd say the first option is worse, although I can see how both would be frustrating. It's logical to expect that a full Animal Crossing game is coming to Switch, but yet, the same could've been said about a Wii U version a few years ago...and that never happened.

Considering it's been this long (the longest wait between AC games already), I just want some confirmation that AC Switch is on the way. Even if the game is a ways off still. I guess I'm just afraid Animal Crossing could end up like F-Zero and disappear off the face of the Earth.

Oops, I meant to vote for the first option! I think no announcement is worse because we don?t know whether they?re ever going to make a new AC. But if they announce one, even if it takes years to be released at least we know it?s coming and can be excited for it!

I'd rather not see an announcement and them work on it behind the scenes until it's closer to release. It's frustrating to wait many years for a game to be released sometimes.

Just look at one game at E3 this year - Kingdom Hearts 3. That was first showed off at E3 in 2013 - 5 years ago. And Kingdom Hearts 2 actually came out in 2005. Granted, they've released a bunch of other games in the meantime, but that's still a long wait for KH3.

I'd rather not get an announcement until a game is less than 1 year away.

I'd prefer they announce it and delay it, solely because I'm a sucker for BTS and dev stuff so I'd love to see how the game has changed over time.

I'd personally be more bothered by the second option, but it really sort of depends on how long of a span of time it is and how far out such a game would be, I suppose.

I'm still currently working on my years long quest to finally acquire all of the dream villagers I could fit in my New Leaf towns who happened to fit with the themes of the towns I've assigned them to. I only have a few left to adopt at this point. Even then, I'll still have bugs and fish to catch in certain towns, Public Works Projects to construct, and home expansions to pay off for my other characters.

I don't need an announcement for the next Animal Crossing game right now, personally. I understand the desire for other people, and in another situation where I did all this in he past then I might be right here with you. But for as much as I like Animal Crossing, I'm not exactly hyped to frequently spend $60 on Switch cartridges compared to the 3DS cartridges which were half that. I'm personally relieved that the next Animal Crossing isn't announced yet because it means I can concentrate on getting Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Fire Emblem: Three Houses. As far as I'm concerned, they can take as long as they want to make the next Animal Crossing game as long as it is enjoyable and worth the wait. There are other games and other ways to spend my time aside from playing games, so it's all really just kind of a big nonissue for me.

I'd love to see an announcement as soon as possible because I like speculating about things and getting hyped for the game's eventual release. But I feel like Nintendo is going to announce it late as they're making us wait a terribly long time now. But all this is assuming that there is a game coming at all. We literally do not know anything! Nintendo, please let us know that Animal Crossing Switch is a thing!! I honestly wouldn't care if it will still take three years before it comes out, I just want to know that it's coming...

The second one. I would be happy if I just know that Nintendo is working on a new main game.
Not knowing if they are working on one or not sucks for me the most to be honest.
