Lacking emotions

I am still lacking loads of emotions. I have been playing since the release of the game but it has been months now that I have recieved any new emotions. What could be wrong? Do you use emotions at all and which is your favourite one. I use them regularly. Atm I prefer the laughter-emotion.

Do you have all personality types on your island? I believe only certain emotions are from certain personalities.

you can buy emotion books at the nook stop in resident services. In -game they're called reactions

It's a lot easier to get new reactions if you're good friends with your villagers! Talk to them often, and they'll be more likely to ping you.

Some reactions are only given by villagers with specific personality types. I believe each personality can give you 4 reactions as your
friendship level progresses. So you have to reach top friendship to get them all.
