Large Snowflakes from other people's Snowboys? (on same island)

My husband made our first Snowboy yesterday. He got the snowflake and the DIY. When I talked to them later, I got the DIY, but no snowflake. No snowflake from the same perfect one today either. Can only the maker get the snowflakes?

Only the person who made the perfect snowboy will get a large snowflake.

BUT! If you have already learned all of the Snowboy DIYs, you will get large snowflakes instead.

Sadly, this is my first winter playing the game so I only know like 2, one from the snowboy and one was a gift from a friend

Don't worry. You have plenty of time to get large snowflakes later on. Snowflake season lasts until Feb 24th.

Just be sure to talk to each perfect snowboy every day since you can get stuff from them until they melt away.
