Wouldn't mind seeing more Mikio Naruse films available under the Criterion label.

Gallows said we had to have more 'conversation' if we ever want it back -_-

-_- Really? More "conversation"?

Anyways, the last movie I watched was Lee Chang-dong's Secret Sunshine.

Wow, I was deeply moved by this one.

Yeah, I was like.. what.. do we have to write essays? Still it should belong in Brewster's :c It's not like a game for favorite. And I try to discuss. And the fact that we watches the most movies here just makes it natural that we have the most posts. -_-

Man, that sucks. I don't think that this thread belongs here either.

Anyways, the last movie I watched was Fires on the Plain by Kon Ichikawa.

What a marvelous experience. I am already planning to watch The Makioka Sisters.

Before that, I watched Cries & Whispers.

It's so beautiful...

Only idiots would doubt that. :p

Anyways, the last movie I watched was Wild Strawberries.

Bergman.
true true.

for me:

Bamboozled

Well. To be honest I think it kinda lost its purpose of satire with African-American people when they brought in those gangsta rap guys.. it's not "new" in the terms or satirizing millennium stuff :/

Like, it was more gangsta wanting revenge rather then the film serving its original purpose. Shame, because it had some good moments.

@Jun - I can see where you're coming from. I don't really think it's new too.

Anyways, the last movie I watched was Jean Cocteau's Beauty and the Beast.

The Disney version was a childhood favourite of mine (and I still love it to this day), but this one here definitely did the story so much better.

Yeah, it's gonna be an interesting class discussion on Thursday I assume :p

Was never a fan of Disney but that one sounds interesting :3

I'm planning on reviewing Cocteau's version, but I just finished up a review for the Disney version earlier.

What a coincidence, they are screening Cocteau version twice here in May. Might go watch if I get the time.
