Hello and welcome to the first blog post for my little island, Lawai'i! I really want this place to be a general HUB for the screenshots I take so I have them all in one place, but I also want to share a little bit of my personal aesthetic for everyone on TBT to view if they wanted

I don't plan on blogging daily-- just the bigger events, really. Updates on the island map, villager house's layout, star searching with friends, etc., will hopefully keep this blog exciting for everyone to read! It's all just for fun, and I don't want these posts to be too long and boring! :]

Day 1 of the blog is going to be a little bit more of an introduction for everyone! My name is Jacob, and if I were a villager type, I would be lazy without a doubt. Today on my island is a really lazy Thursday, so I'm chillin' pretty good. Labelle visited and asked me to put on a comfy outfit, so here it is! Not super.. fashionable... :

I talked to all of my little friends and Murphy was crafting a Pot, kinda lame lol

(I still adore you Murphy so it's ok)

I don't really have any plans for the day! I just wanted to use this first post to say "Hello!" and I will see how the night goes. Until next time!

I want to dedicate this blog post to going into a little depth about my campsite- sort of like a feature highlight. Maybe this'll be a thing I do when I have some lazy time on my hands to mess around with a blog post. My campsite is one of my newest areas on my island. Originally I had my campsite laid out in a fairly open area with little decorating. It looked nice for where my island was at the time, but I definitely think it needed some love and care in its design. After-all, I did find Bob (and some of my sheep) using the campsite method, so I might as well turn it into a nicer area for future visitors. Going through my camera roll now, I am seeing that I unfortunately don't have any old photos of my campsite pre-redesign. That's a little disappointing, but I would like to share some new photos of how it's turning out!

Because my island takes on a neon aesthetic, I relied fairly heavily on the use of the mush lamps and star fragments littered on the ground to tie it in together with the theme of my island. Tho, I think the overall use of trees is different enough from what I've been working on elsewhere that it distinguishes it as an "important" area.

Here is how my campsite looks from the outside before entering!

My ultimate goal using the terraformed walls and bushes was to make entering the campsite area feel almost other-worldly in an extreme sense. Simply put, I wanted the outside to match my island as best as possible, with the inside being related, yet completely new.

Inside my campsite features of course, star fragments, mush lamps, and cedar trees as the main decor. Throughout, visitors will find a crafting table, a picnic area, music boxes, an outdoor bath, an OK Motors sign, a wash board, and more little camping details that I thought could be nice to have slightly hidden for visitors to stumble upon.

Hidden behind multiple trees, I have little bird cages that I am especially proud of. The little birds make chirping noises which adds to the environment I feel :]

My campsite definitely isn't much or crazy, but I feel considerably proud of how it looks in its efforts to match the neon aesthetic of my island. Hopefully it comes across a little dreamy for visitors (animals in tents, and actual friends visiting my island), because my campsite before was definitely a fly-over project.

I can absolutely see myself adding more to this campsite in the future (such as maybe a moon/crescent chair, or other celestial items), but for now, I think I would consider it one of the most finished areas on my island. I hope you like it, and ty for reading!

Hello potential viewers, I'm stuck at home today and off work for the first time in a quite a while so I now actually have time to write a blog post again! A lot has changed since I last updated this thread, so that's what I'll be working on for the next few hours. (To be honest, I'm getting a little frustrated with trying to figure out how to spend this free time without feeling like I'm wasting it, and I feel equally guilty and happy writing a blog post today. It must be done tho so I don't forget and just stop the blog! It can be kind of relaxing tho, to write to myself and/or anyone who might be reading one day. )

Here goes-

Since the last blog post, I've stripped down my island once again, and by this I mean I've cleared ALL of my trees, flowers, inclines, bridges, and pathing. I went from brick primary paths to sand primary. I've made the decision that I'm going to push heavier on a tropical vibe for my island. While this has always been part of the plan, this is now more important to me than the vaporwave theme. Both will still be present, but pushing vaporwave and neon will have to come later with more items in updates. I found myself stuck having to use the same few neon/vaporwave items to decorate the whole island, so they are now more of accent pieces.

I will attach some quick photos of what I've been working on to push the tropical theme! I am, however, still in the process of finding a happy medium of sand and grass. I originally started laying down sand across the whole island, but I think palm trees and sand look nicer in smaller quantities. I'm sure a lot of areas will continue to change and evolve as time goes on.

Welcome to the new entrance of Lawai'i! I made sure to leave plenty of potential space and ideas for both old and new neon items to come :]

Hello awesome readers, here's just a quick update that I'm super excited about... Zell has moved in last night! I spent a few hours searching for him with Nook Tickets, but thankfully I had a friend able to move him out super quickly after they saw I was searching for him. I'm so hype!!

He's taken over Curlos's spot on my island, bringing my villager count from 5 sheep/3 deer to 4 sheep/4 deer. I think this may be the last sheep I want but we shall see.

Bonus: I didn't know how cool this moon shine looks on this spacecraft!!
