Let go then invite back starter villager to get their regular house?

Will they remember you when you invite them back via amiibo?

Or will they remember you if they were moved to your friend's then moved back?

Deirdre has such an amazing house but I have her as my starter so it's super basic and such a shame!!

Reneigh remembered me when I traded her back and forth with my friend to fix her house (even said something like "you really wanna put up with me again?") and even still had the space parka I gave her! They won't with amiibo though--Portia's exterior got glitched so I had to move her out and back in with amiibo and she acted like we'd never met

OMG I love Deirdre, she's one of my starter and I don't want to get rid of her but when I see this beautiful autumn house... I almost consider buying her amiibo to kick her out and then re-invite her immediately...

They only remember you if you move them to another island then move them back from that same island. I've done this with Fauna when I thought I wanted to get rid of her. I quickly changed my mind after a day.
