Let?s try to revive TBT!

When on your computer, leave the tab open and try to check and post occasionally.

When on a bus, in a car, going to sleep, using the bathroom, etc.. be on here posting!

I remember when folks would compete for the most number of posts, when you?d refresh the site trying to see the next new post, and when people were using this site like crazy!

Let?s be crazy! LEGO! :p

I understand you're trying to be positive, but I really don't like stuff like this implying that tbt is "dead". It's just a bit bland after a while. However, I'm new and I have no idea what it was like "back in the day".

It kind of is dead. lol :(

Unless there is another Animal Crossing game coming, the current activity will stay or lower. Plus, it's not like the current activity is bad or anything, it's just not huge amounts of people are active.

Maybe some advertising?

Yes! Advertising. And inviting friends. ;)

I doubt there will be much activity here until a new game is announced/released.

Though I am trying to get my post count to 10000, albeit very slowly :p

True. . .but I mean at least I can assure you guys that I am not going anywhere soon! Especially since I recently restarted ACNL. I mean, for real tho, if you look at the statistics on the bottom of the home page, you'll see that only approximately 2% of the total TBT users are active. It's kinda sad, tbh.

A lot of the old people from my time left for various reasons, and it was mostly the site’s fault tbh, so the site is pretty much dead now. If anything, it’s only a shell of its former glory, and there are certain people responsible for what happened to it that never got punished for it.

I imagine though that when AC Switch is announced, and when it finally comes out, the site will be going off with new users and posts like crazy.

EDIT: It’s just a game-generational thing at this point. I’m sure after AC Switch has been out for awhile, people will start leaving again and the forum will become “dead” again.

Prove me wrong.

As someone who's only been with the site since past September I'm genuinely curious about what you are talking about with people being responsible for it's downfall and not being punished for it.

Just from my own observations of the profiles of numerous users, it seems that many users create an account, use it for a couple of months and abandon it. The people who have stuck around seem to be those who are loyal to the site/still play ACNL (I'm assuming that many of the people who leave simply have stopped playing ACNL after a couple of months and therefore have stopped using the site.) Then there are people like me, who have been playing ACNL for several years (though I have recently restarted my town xD) and don't plan to stop or stop using the site for a while!

Sorry if all of what I wrote is just a big, jumbled, incoherent mess :p.

I’m mainly talking about the trolls and people who put down other users, some of those people were never punished for it, and it caused the site’s reputation to falter somewhat. Then there’s people like me where a lot of people would probably be glad if I left, just because of the way I view things and how much I post. Combine all of that up, and you get a recipe for disaster.

Raskell is right about one thing. The site used to be way, WAY more active. If you look at the most active date, it’s still that one date in 2015, and I doubt that will ever be surpassed (even when AC Switch comes out). But drama happened, and I also imagine people left to other sites and games over time. I would mark 2016 as the starting year for the decline to what the site is now.

Of course, this isn’t really something that cannot be figured out on your own. Just go back and ask some of the users of their experiences, and what sites/games they go to/play on now.

EDIT: I forgot to mention some of the old users probably left because they have actual careers/lives to live now. Right now, I’m just a nobody.

Oh boy it was really bad between like October 2016 and May/June 2017. There has been a lot of drama here, and that caused most of my friends to leave. People kept making controversial threads and wouldn't stop arguing with each other. I'm assuming that's why a lot of people have left.

But I also agree that people go on with their lives and forget about this forum, or they stop playing AC and see no purpose in staying. I think this forum will become more active when a new game is announced.

Though I think of myself as one of the rarer types because I don't really play any AC games at all. I just get on to talk to people and play forum games. Not much else.

Yeah, this is my point basically. People arguing about things that would be better settled elsewhere/diffused by the staff, and I’m also a rare type in that I don’t really play ACNL much anymore, or AC games. I’m more into Pokemon and Fire Emblem now.

ok but tbt isn't dead

less active sure, but far from dead

By “dead” we mean it’s not that active, nowhere near the old user base, etc.

It’s like people call Elsword a “dead” game even though people still play it at times.

Nothing is truly ever dead unless the site/game is shut down for whatever reason.

This place is dead af and nothing can bring it back except animal crossing switch

It would be nice if there were a few more new and active peeps on this site, I remember when there were bid wars for popular villagers, now you?re lucky if someone adopts them lol
