Limited types of flowers??

Yes its true. I have considered erasing my island to get lilies because of this. Even if you trade with people, you cant unlock the rest of the flowers outside your designated 3 in the store and island mystery tours.
Which imo, is awful. Trading for hybrids, fair enough. Limiting players to 3 basic flower types they may not like (and I dont think any of us knew this before we all started truly playing).. feels like a very weird decision.
A kind player traded with me and I have some lilies growing, but theyre taking forever to spread and I dislike online trading unless it’s for a very quick swap of some sort or just to pick up an item or two. It stresses me out.
I see no reason why they thought that even after we find and collect a flower outside our designated 3 once (by trading..), we should not be able to unlock it on our mystery tours or in our shops so we can buy them in their basic colors with bells at our own convenience.
Im thinking they wanted islands to be “super unique” especially with the furniture color conundrum but that whole mindset is a big miss for me.
Oh and I want to note, I "beat" the game and have the final nook upgrade (as of right now) and I still only get tulips, hyacinths, and cosmos in varying colors for sale. I tried selling roses and lilies thinking that would work to "unlock them".. Nope.

Yeah, not sure why they did this unless to encourage trading... having a "native flower" is fine but only having three different types show up on your own island. Planning to trade remaining ones/buy bags at other stores because I'd like having all the flowers growing on my island
No, I'm fine with it. I've traded for the ones I was missing or visited their Nook's to buy my own seeds. The game has always had a strong element of trading so I kinda welcome it. It makes our islands even more unique and worth visiting.
It's 5:30AM here so the day changed.
Checked out my store and I have a different stock of flowers.
Yesterday I had: Mums, Windflowers, Pansies
today I have: Mums, Hyacinths, Tulips
these are the only flowers I've ever seen in my shop, maybe as we continue to upgrade more varieties will be available

Really?!? I’ve checked every single day and I’ve only ever had the same three variants available, just in different colours.
How far along in the game are you?

WOW, if this is true, it's one of the most ludicrous things that's ever been in an Animal Crossing game. What about people that don't plan to play online ? What a joke.

I also have 4 types. Cosmoses are my native flowers. Tom Nook gave me some tulip seeds for one of the early tutorial tasks. Timmy and Tommy have since sold me hyacinth seeds and pansie seeds.

When my nook’s upgraded they stopped selling hyacinths and started selling tulips, so that makes four since roses and wildflowers grow naturally on my island.
