Looking for a certain DIY recipe...

A friend of mine and I were wondering, but has anyone made it far enough into the game yet to get the buildable stairs? I’m not talking about the pole vault to get across rivers, but the actual stairs that take you to the second level of the island (if your island isn’t completely flat). If someone figures this out and can tell exactly when you’re able to get them, that would be awesome. Exploring the island is fun, but I really want to see what’s on the top level.

If you're talking about the Ladder tool, I believe the DIY Recipe can be received from Tom Nook once you accept the job to set up houses for new residents, so it might be a couple of days

I was hopeful the ladder came from Blathers after finishing the Museum. He gave us the pole, figured he'd give us the ladder.
