There are people here from all over the world, so your timezone doesn't have to be a big issue.
I live in Europe, but often I play with people from other continents. I think it more depends on how many hours you play.
I am going to add you. I play a lot so it doesn't have to be a big problem to meet each other in game. If you see my gates open, you are always welcome to visit my town.
I do have only 2 rules... No running and no shaking trees. If you need fruit I have plenty of it on the ground near the station.
And the rest is up to you, you may shopping, talk to my villagers and so on...
