Lord of the Rings TV Series in the works by Amazon

Bumping this thread; seems like the first season of this show is supposed to focus entirely on young Aragorn.

ooooh! admittedly my first thought was "huh..." but after reading the article i'm very intrigued. i hope they get some of the same actors from the movies! (at least the immortal characters like elrond and gandalf, i know they'd use different actors for everyone else lol).

also, if there's gonna be multiple seasons and only season 1 focuses on aragorn, i wonder if it'll follow the same approach to other characters? like boromir and faramir growing up would probably be a good one.

I'm hoping for Sir Ian McKellen too but I feel like it would be risky to use him in a series considering he is getting quite up there in age.

And yeah, I am curious if this will cover multiple characters, different stories. That would be quite interesting and it would be harder for them to screw it up if that was the case.
