Resident Night Mare
So sorry I haven't been here for a while. Sometimes, RL doesn't cooperate with our plans to stay and play in AC world. I had a little accident last week. I'm okay, but I bruised a bone in my foot and sprained my ankle. I've been arguing with insurance companies over who is going to pay for the X-rays (not me, I can tell you that!). Anyway, I'm back. Hope you didn't miss me too much.
Things are moving along in Salem. Another lamp post was constructed, making night fishing along the river more pleasant. I haven't had any other suggestions for things to construct that I really want to put in town, so I've left that for now and have been concentrating on reorganizing trees. There's a little plot of land up in the top left corner of town that made for a perfect place to put some apple trees. I've got around 20 of them growing between the river and the tracks right now. I'll probably extend them toward the station, filling in that area. I think I'll maybe create the rest of the fruit orchard/groves on the other side of the river, coming down around Town Hall. I want to put some pine trees around the campsite, giving it a nice cozy feel, and I've been waiting for the island to stock hibiscus plants again. Barring that, I'll just have to wait for the Nooklings to upgrade so I can get them from Main Street.
I've finally finished the exterior of my house the way I want it. I know I'd said I had all the items purchased from Tom, but I have been wanting to put flowers around the house. I chose pink and white lilies for the front and yellow lilies along each side. With the Fairy Tale decor, I really like the way it looks.
Poor Vic got sick with a summer cold over the weekend. He stayed in and I brought him medicine each day. It took three days, because he had a fever, but he's back to his old self now. Everyone says he's grumpy, but we get along nicely and he often goes out of his way to see me.
Dizzy celebrated a birthday this past Sunday. I got him a hi-fi stereo, which he loved. It's displayed right when you come in his house now. Mathilda and I were trying to guess how old he was, but as she said, he invoked the "four candles rule" so we couldn't ask. It was yummy cake, though.
I've started working for Brewster part-time. It's tough to remember everyone's orders, but I'm getting there. Brewster has been happy with my work, paying me in superb coffee beans and sometimes slipping me equipment from the café as a bonus. It helps fill up my house.
I'm working on paying off loans so I can finish upgrading my rooms. Then I can really settle down to decorating, which is my favorite thing.
Katrina has been to town, so we're a few steps closer to having her set up shop on Main Street. I gave the other girls some money so they could get their fortunes told, as well.
I think Beardo and I are close to becoming best friends. He sends me letters with presents almost every day or stops me around town to give me something. He's also let drop the "music boxes make excellent birthday presents" hint again, so I think I'll see if I can find another giant clam shell to have Cyrus make one. Beardo's birthday isn't until November, so I have plenty of time. Worst case scenario, I'll give him the one I have in my bedroom.
I guess that is all that has happened. I mean, there have been other little things, but those are the main highlights. Oh, yes. I almost forgot. I came close tobeing caught by catching a scorpion the other night. I wasn't expecting it, so by the time I got my net out, it had run into the river. Do you think it's a coincidence that an arrowana appeared shortly thereafter?
Hope everyone is having a good week, and good luck in this weekend's Bug-Off! Go for the Gold!!
